Intermittent Fasting

I’ve been browsing the internet looking for info on this after reading exile-swede’s thread.

I googled it but most of the information pertains to longevity and health benefits. Does anyone have any information about using it for body recomp? Or better yet, has anyone done it?

You might want to search over on Art DeVany’s blog. He is really into brief periods of fasting. The Url is:

For what its worth, I’ve never met anyone who had a good body that also happened to fast. I dont know if weight training individuals are any different, but I would bet dimes to dollars that fasting is not the way to go if you are looking solely for body composition change.

Its been proven countless times that the way to go is 6 meals a day with protein, good fats, low GI carbs, and some veggies.

I’m not really sure that fasting is good for your “health” either (I’m willing to learn, please point me in the right direction). If you do a search for the “Dave Tate Project”, in the 3rd installment you can see some impressive bloodwork numbers acheived through the use of a good diet and exercise program.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. This should be the end of the thread. Though I am waiting for the same people who just “know” you can gain a lot of muscle and lose a lot of fat simultaneously to chime in.
