Cool, keep talking about them and people will talk back. You made that one post and already got three replies.
People talk about powerlifting and conditioning, but those threads don’t belong in the Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 Coaching forum. People talk about Olympic lifts and high frequency training, but those threads don’t belong in Christian Thibaudeau’s Coaching forum. People keep training logs tracking their progress with 5/3/1 training or Thibaudeau programs, but those don’t belong in Coaching forums.
In a nutshell, questions for Dr. Darden.
Pardon my French, but this section isn’t for just shooting the shit and chatting about random topics of the day. Again, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to hang out in certain subforms and not others. I mean, we’ve got people who signed up to T Nation and only, I mean only, ever post in the Politics forum. I still can’t wrap my head around that, but whatever.
But that doesn’t change the fact that the forum categories are pretty clearly delineated. I think the biggest speedbump is that that old site only had the one “discussion forum” and every thread ended up under one big umbrella, while this site has separate subforums for more finely tuned discussions and better organization. I do understand how it can be a little confusing, but it’s definitely easy to get the hang of.
You can also always tag people in any thread you create by using the @ symbol in front of their name. So if you wanted to make sure JoeSchmoe knew about your thread, you’d @JoeSchmoe and they’d get an alert to check out the thread. That’s one way to let “the guys who frequent the Darden Forum” know that they’re not in Kansas anymore.
