Yah that’s really good if you do not have any symptoms or even raised blood pressure.
So I’ve been really unnaturally tired these last few days. I took an iron supplement drink a couple of hours ago and I could swear I’ve perked up! Might be the placebo effect tho…
Sorry it’s taken so long to get back…been super busy. I agree with everyone that you should lower dosage and watch HCT and platelets. Donating blood with low ferritin is a bad idea. My ferritin is 26 on a scale of 22-322 and I was told in no uncertain terms that I cannot donate at all.
Be careful with an iron supplement with your already elevated hematocrit. Please ask your doctor for advice on the iron.
I stopped eating red meat 4 months ago, this is probably why it’s low. I may have to reintroduce it…
If I can’t give blood and I can’t take an iron supplement, I’m not sure how I’m gonna get a balance…
One cheeseburger or steak every couple weeks is good stuff
Lowering your dose will help with the hematocrit. I’m not an expert but I’ve had high hematocrit before and that helped me lower it, consult with your doctor though. I eat red meat weekly, take vitamin c to help absorption and still have low ferritin. I’m really not sure what my issue is.
What is your total iron binding capacity and your total iron level? If you take an iron supplement and you’re not anemic it will mess you up.
I only have my ferretin levels.
59.3ug/L 30 - 400
On a side note, I started Enanthate yesterday, 40mg, and I had wood on and off all night, something that Sustanon didn’t do!
Glad to hear you’re having results already, it’s the little things!
I’m the same as you guys… There was a recent study which showed that some people have greater consciousness during sleep than others, which leads to the perception of ‘not sleeping’ when in fact the brain exhibits all of the same wave lengths etc associated with the various stages of sleep. This might being you some comfort to know that you biological processes are still working but you may be hyperstimulated and hypervigilant around sleep which is leading to this conscious state.
Since lowering my T dose back to 150 per week I’ve felt a lot less amped up and calmer. I may consider dropping it a little further depending on the results of my blood test. I still want to be in a high T range as I have aspirations to build muscle ![]()
Fascinating.
You somewhat described what I deal with. Feeling like I didn’t sleep deeply. But not being too sleepy the next day. It’s odd.
Ok so I swapped to Enanthate last week from Sustanon and reduced my dose from 50mg E3.5D to 40mg E3.5D, hopefully this was going to bring my E2 and my blood into line.
The thing is, this last week I have really struggled to get out of bed and function, I feel so tired and weak and I have terrible brain fog, it takes several cups of coffee and it takes until late afternoon before I come round a little.,
Anyone any ideas what could be going on here?

Any changes to your sleep? Whether you’re on 50 or 40 E3.5D, that isn’t a particularly high dose.
Have you made any other changes?
I have been sleeping a little better. TBH I’m wondering if it’s side effects of fluoxetine SSRI that I started low dose 3 weeks ago…
There are too many variables it is hard to know! Your sleep improvements may have nothing to do with the SSRI or the Test. Your overall arousal levels might simply be beginning to drop on their own, resulting in better sleep. Or perhaps you are enjoying the placebo effect. Shrug.
I do know that T gave me much greater energy, almost from the first dose. When I increase my dose beyond TRT levels I do find that my anxiety increases and my slee worsens…
If you changed something (yet again) you’ll have to wait 6-weeks and get new bloodwork to determine anything useful.
I feel it could be fluoxetine side effects finally hitting me at the 3 week mark. I will be seeing the psychiatrist tonight…
I agree with bmbrady77, it’s probably the adjustment period before stabilized blood levels are reached, I tend to get the same symptoms.
I’m so glad I’ve got you guy’s to fall back on!
I know the feeling and yes it sucks, but hopefully it is short term and in a few days you feel better. If you go through your history it sounds like you are doing better. Look at the January post and go down and gauge how much better you are today compared to 3 months ago.
I saw your thyroid is great so that can’t be the issue. Your not taking any t4/t3 right ? Your levels are high like a young man. Usually as we get older that lowers. Lucky there.
