Squats and deads today
I’m going to make it a habit of heading to the gym earlier since I’ll be more likely to go and will be able to avoid peak hours.
I’ll be throwing up some pics in the summer. So more incentive to build some muscle and lose some fat.
Thread about to close up bruh. You so popular.

Good choice, my gym is literally hell at peak time, I just power though the herd like a meathead dick
Today really pissed me off
Paused squats
all sets beltless; 10 count pauses
140x2
230x2
320x2 PR
Notes:
- Left knee still aches from the meet, but only in the hole.
- Bar speed was good and technique wasn’t bad; pretty good overall.
Deadlifts
beltless
240x1
370x1
440x1
480x1
550x0,0,0
Notes:
- I couldn’t get 550, but since I haven’t pulled from the floor in a month and it’s still over 90% of my current max, it’s understandable.
- The thing is thought the weight wasn’t heavy. Quite frankly, I had a problem that I’ve never had before. My legs were shaking like friggin maracas. The issue was first apparent with 480, but the weight was light enough for me to finish. With the first attempt with 550, my legs were shaking like crazy. I was like WTH. Second attempt, my friggin ankle folded. Third attempt, got the weight to my knees and my legs were shaking will seizuric intensity, so it was no go. I was pissed.
- I figured the issue was 50% muscular strength and 50% proprioceptive, so I decided to try some block pulls.
Block pulls
they weren’t true block pulls as I did them from plates
pulled from yellows
460x1,1
NOTES:
- Would’ve been much better with actual blocks as the ends of the bar constantly oscillate.
- I couldn’t coordinate my reps, so I ditched it.
Deadstop SLDLs
double overhand
245x8 PR
310x8 PR
350x3 PR
NOTES:
- I found my solution. My hamstrings and my core needed some attention and this delivered on both ends.
- I’m keeping these in and building upon them. I would like 450+ for reps soon.
SUMMATION:
Thankfully my issue was a regression issue and not a developmental one. Figured it out and I’m fixing it now. Not that bad of a day actually. I was less pissed by my overall performance and moreso by letting get to this point, but it was a learning experience that I’m grateful for.
For tomorrow, I’m thinking FS holds, some pressing, and some back work.
Hamstrings still feeling it.

10 count? Chilling in the hole all day long lolz
That’s a loooooooooong pause on those squats. Nice.
Also, maybe the jump up to your top weight on deads was too great? IDK what you do usually though.
Also also, how do you know when the log is going to end?

I will post music frequently now. Need to get some heavy stuff back on here. Gonna see if I can squat 585 before June.
We have the same goal my friend. Challenge accepted.
EDIT: I will probably be on some special vitamins in a couple of weeks, if I can manage to sort my fucking nutrition out.
Yep. 650 will probably fall this year. Special vitamins eh …[/quote
Yeap. I have heard that Vitamin T is good.

Thanks bro.
The jump was so irrelevant. Like I said, it was regression issue from lack of heavy lower work for like a month.
They usually close when they get around this length.
