InkAddict's Log

Just watched “Fat Head” which is a documentary that challenges Supersize Me. While some of the stuff in it I thought was crap, towards the end he goes into the benefits of saturated fats, and eats high saturated fat for a month and his cholesterol plummeted. Interesting film, if anyone’s bored :)[/quote]

There’s a Gary Tuabes book that explains some of the history of the anti-fat crusade and the arguably bad science behind it.

Pretty interesting read.

MiM, arm’s fine today, hams are still sore as shit though from the other day. Oh well, they’ll be hating my when I fire my “DE Lower” torpedo’s at them, packed full of band box squats and band speed deads!

Racer, thanks for the book recommendation, I’ll check it out.

Damn, this log’s almost full. Time to look back at what’s been accomplished, sum it up, set some goals for the future, and come up with a clever name for my next one. Suggestions?

“LWI: The log”

^ haha, nice!

“LWI: Lifting With Inky”

its a double LWI title. boom

Oh SNAP! Might drop the “y” though, it’s ‘tougher’ that way

hahah true…

LWI: Little Wittle Inky haha

this log ready to die?

Damn Ink - you ALWAYS impress the shit outta me.

Always~

I like the suggestion:

LWI: Lift With Ink.

but you’ll always be Inky to me

There once was a boy named Inky
Whose feet stank so much they were cheesy
He lifted one day
And shouted hurray
Cause 900 pounds felt so easy.

Sorry I’m feeling silly today and I have no idea of your feet stink or not, I just needed it to rhyme.

Greg, dude that was a cold shower that day and you KNOW it! Don’t call me that!

Edgy, I’m glad man, I try!

Main, I don’t mind being called Inky, just not one to call myself that  Of course my feet don’t stink, just because I’m a dude doesn’t mean I stink like one.

ok, yes it does

Training related note: I noticed this the other day, but forgot to mention it: DOMS sets in for me, around 18 hours PWO. Interesting, eh? I can wake up the next morning feeling fatigued, but not sore until about 18 hours after setting down the iron.

Weird

On the way home from work today, my wife says “I don’t feel like running anymore, why can’t I get motivated?”

“Because running sucks, and you want to start powerlifting with me!”

“yeah I don’t know, I just don’t feel like it anymore”

“Again, try powerlifting with me. It’s more fun anyway, and makes you awesome!”

Fast forward to dinner prep time, when she ran to the store while I was making pasta…and I get a text asking if we needed anything else from the store…“some ice cream so we can have it after our powerlifting session”

What’s she walk in with?

Fucking Girl Scout Samoa Ice Cream!

I said “so you’re in then, right?”

…she’s in!

Training at home tonight, so band squats are out, but band deadlifts are still in.

I’ll log that session in my new log, if this one dies.

Stay tuned

LWI

I want to get in before the end of your log.

Yay to your wife lifting with you.

I also like LWI: Lifting with Inky. But keep the y. It’s sexier.

Haha ok Court, I’ll think about it.

Just got some work done at home, needless to say that my creativity was tested tonight, but I managed to include a new rigged up way for band deads, cable crunches at home, and reverse hypers in the kitchen.

Numbers and vids to come in the morning.

Hehe creeping your log

Me too! But only if I am taking rest days. I don’t really understand it.

  1. LWI
  2. Pork products
  3. ???
  4. Profit

Inky, can’t wait for the new log and the epic awesomeness to follow! I shall be following with rapt attention

Let’s do it!

Hey creeper Deb! Thanks for creepin, it’s always welcome!

Masch, pork products = profit, so winning is a guarantee!

So, last night’s workout was at home, and I just couldn’t figure out a way to rig up my bands for squats, so I just did box squats that were light, but explosive and fast.

95 x 2 x 2
115 x 2 x 2
135 x 2 x 3
155 x 2 x 3
135 x 2 x 2
12 sets, easy breezy.

Band deadlifts with monster mini’s, singled over the bar and around a plank of 3/4" pine (in vid) +1 for creativity

135 (plus bands) x 1 x 2
185 x 1 x 3
225 x 1 x 5
Easy, and explosive on these, vid of the last rep

How does one do reverse hypers at home, without any equipment for it? Using the kitchen island, see vid.
bw x 15 x 4
Next time I’ll use a db or band

Strong Band Kneeling Crunches
4 x 15
Hooked the band over the top of my bench uprights, kneeled down, and crunched. Vid won’t upload, but it’s pretty awesome, another point for creativity.

Vid of a DL and some hypers, for demonstration

Feel great today, low back’s a little torched, hams aren’t too bad (yet, they will be this evening I’m sure)

Little metal up in hurrr

Hey ink, any reason that the video is private?

New log could be, Bacon…BOOM WINNING!

Only because when I upload from my phone to youtube it sets it automatically. Should be changed now.

WINNING!
