Awesome dude, pure awesome!

Went in and smashed my abs and arms. I’ll put some numbers up later, but a was pumped leaving today.

Good day

squats are lookin purdy…

Now add some weight!!

Oh, NOW I can add some weight huh? Thanks MiM

Deload week today. I’ll be training at home primarily, and have the wife training with me. I asked her for 1 week of PL lifting with me, as I think she’d be real good at it and now I just wanna see if I’m right.

hour of SS cardio this morning, did another hour yesterday morning. Anxious to hit the weights again, I just need to tell myself “Deload, don’t be stupid”

Abs are still sore from Saturday, sneezing hurts. Biceps are sore too, which is good because they usually aren’t sore for more than a day afterwards. Must have done something right, right?

LWI

does your wife usually train with you or is she not into lifting teh heavy weights? I’ve got my fiance working out with me (sometimes) and she’s liking it. Usually I have her working with the pre set bars cause the Oly bars intimidate her a little (i think lol)

I HATE when my abs are sore… thats probably why i hardly ever do ab stuff. What’d you do for teh hawt abz brotha?

Well, many moons ago, she liked lifting with me, but life got in the way and that’s when I fell off the wagon years ago. Since I’ve gotten serious over the last year, she’s worked out with me a couple times but it’s not really her thing. Pilates, yoga, running are more her style and I’m cool with that, I just try and bug her occasionally about lifting with me (mostly in fun) to see if she’ll do it, try to be the motivator.

For abs I did, let’s see if I can remember…
Cable Crunches
4x20

Decline situps
3x10 (SUCK at these, ouch!)

Roman Chair leg raises (didn’t get the result some wimmenz have here…haha)
4x15

I feel like I did something else, but can’t remember. Anyway, had me damn sore until this morning. I can actually flex them and not wince in pain.

Someday I’ll have teh hawt abz like you, Greg. Someday.

Oh man I hate doing abs. I’d rather do biceps than abs… and thats saying a lot cause I dont like doing biceps lol

I hear ya on the wifey thing. My fiance likes doing yoga, pilates and all that as well. I had a membership to a yoga studio with her and I actually liked it a lot but it was pretty costly. I’m with you though… as long as shes doing something that she’s happy about and is motivated then I’m all good.

You ever do the ab roll out wheel? Thats the only ab exercise that I actually like cause its hard and I dont get bored thinking that I’m doing abs.

Oh and on a completely unrelated note… You get any new tattoos lately? I mean your screen name IS Inkaddict is it not?

EDIT: OH SHIT! This was my 5,000th post

Joyce, I keep reading that sit-ups and spinal flexion in general are the debil. You disagree?

5000 damn, wait until you’re OVER 9000!

I’ve done the ab wheel rollout from the knees before, it sucks and is hard, and I hate training abs anyway. I’ll try them next time, I really need to build up some ab mass so you can at least tell they’re alive under this thick blanket they’re hiding under.

Speaking of yoga, ever do Bikram (hot) yoga? BRUTAL! I got a 2 month unlimited pass I’m going to start using after this meet, looking forward to it because I got it for cheap and the stuff is normally crazy expensive.

Haven’t got any new tattoos lately, I’m itching for some bad though. I have ideas, just need the cash to be able to get work done. Last one I got was my oldest daughters name in a heart/cross bones on my shin. Need one for my other daughter now, and a bunch of other stuff too. Oh, the addiction…sucks sometimes

Not that I agree or disagree, but it makes sense to try and avoid regular situps. The decline situps I did were only “down” until my back was parallel with the floor, keeping constant tension on the abs. The cable crunches I like because I feel strong pulling the weight down towards the floor, and not grinding my spine against the floor like I would do normal situps.

I think I could get into ab training, with the variety of exercises I’m experiencing from people with tips here, or elsewhere on this site. Some of them are “fun”, like wood chops, I like those too. I’ll never so a billion crunches though, and I think I’ll likely only do a set of regular crunches if I ever try and run a mock PFT, just to see how I compare to my past scores when I was a lazy, fat, airwing Marine.

Yeah we did do hot yoga. The studio we belonged to was called Core Power Yoga and they did regular and hot yoga classes. The “Core Power” classes required a lot more strength stuff than the other classes. They were awesome cause I would sweat like a madman while I was in there and it was much much harder than I thought it would be. I would definitely like to get another membership but its not cheap down here in SD.

I’ve got a bunch of buddies with tatoos (actually I think i’m the only one who doesnt have any) and I know how addicting it is. The always talk about getting more and when they do they just decide on something else after that lol. Thats probably why I never got any cause I know with my personality I would start with one and a week later I’d have a full chest piece and two sleeves

Lol, I hope that wasn’t the reason you did that exercise.

If my dad hadn’t told me years ago, that it’s not “professional” to have a bunch of tattoos showing, I’d be covered by now.

Just thought i would let you know that elitefts has a sale right now till thursday with free shipping.

Thanks dude, 2 pro short monster mini’s on order now.

LWI!!!

Hi

I’m Ct. Rockula. I really like your log.

Now greg’s just showing off with the disliking biceps and abs thing.
I’m the same way, but it shows that I hate training them.

Oh yeah, you bought some more bands? Exciting!

I know you do Ct, I know you do.

Nik, I can’t pass up a sale. I didn’t really need a bunch of stuff from EFS, and a couple of bands cost less than the price of shipping, so I was just waiting for a “free shipping” deal to show up. Thanks Herc, for pointing it out!

50 minutes on the treadmill this morning, 3.2mph 4% incline.

Off today with a sick kid (it’s one or the other, I swear) so I’ll aim to get in a high volume deload deadlift/back workout today.

Agreed -

Inky has a nice log.

(now add some weight to your squats!)

I’m trying, damnit! Deload this week, must keep my head thinking it’s a deload, not a “feels fine, let’s push it” week.

Got a little work done in the DL department. Maybe tonight I’ll go into the CG and do more back work/cardio.

DL’s
135x10
185x8
225x10

Then, I got crafty.

95+ 1 knotted up EFS Strong band, looped through feet and over bar (Vid)
3 sets of 5

This REALLY worked my grip strength, as the bar was close to being ripped out of my hands for the last few reps.

Then set up for sumo, after unknotting the band (note to self, next time do sumo first, THEN knot the band. That’s a workout in itself).

95x5x3 Vid

GM’s
95x10x2 *Had huge knot in left glute, it was painful to do these so I stopped.

Planks
60sec x 3
