Nice video, I need to get a prowler myself! Did you make it yourself or buy it?

Bought it from EFS. Then there was a sale a couple weeks after, like usual!
I used to (back when I first got it and hit it up regularly) make vids all the time. I might have to repost a couple of my “better” ones.
that prowler looks awesome - you gotta be hardcore to do that in the winter!
btw…you need more weight~

No shit. Ass. It’s been a long time since I’d had it out, and wanted to “ease” back into it.
Here’s one from July, which some may or may not remember…
and this one from June.
good work dude.
That looked rough for your first time back…
I want a tire still to push around and scare the kids.
Dude, just joking, I know you hit it hard.
Just messin, mkay~
still freinds?
MiM, it was BRUTAL! I felt like puking after the first push. The first one. Ugh, no bueno!
Edgy, I guess so… ![]()
Took a night off last night, after a mind numbing rough evening with both kids. Seriously, I could have thrown my 4 year old through a wall last night. You know the feeling you get when you’re telling someone to do something and they just look at you with a “Yeah right, not happenin” look? Compact that feeling into what you could imagine it’d feel like when you’re in a frenzy of cooking dinner and a 4 year old does it. While smiling…RAAWR!! (I wonder where she get’s it from?!)
So i just chilled out after the house was quiet, and thought about tonight’s training. Going to obliterate, yes, obliterate my upper body. Planning a 10mi run on Saturday so I’m going to hold off on DL’s until maybe Sunday/Monday next week, and squats early next week so I can be fully recovered by Sunday for the 13.1 miles of death. Speaking of which…finibars…anyone tried them? I’m waiting for some to get delivered, planning on 1 right after I start running and then another after about an hour of it. Make sense?
Derailed train of thought there…back to my plan for tonight(I’ll see how it actually works out):
Bench, incline bench, flyes, bb rows, pendlay rows, rack chins, arm stuff, ab work, and then run a few miles. Sounds brutal enough, I think.

I go through that EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
Accept, mine does not smile…she will whine, scream or writhe on the floor in some sort of spazzy tantrum. yep, I know EXACTLY what you mean. No sympathy here, lol.
love the way you’re drapped around the prowler like it was your lover at 2:29 of the July one ![]()
been thinking about your wall colors for the gym:
red
bright green
orange
these may be a little rough on all walls but painting the wall you usually face while working out with a few motivational/kid friendly pics could be fun. the others could be more earthy neutral colors…

Yes. But don’t worry, they will grow out of it when they reach 24 or 25 IME.
Brutal 10 mile run? You are nuts. How many are in the race, and where do you want to place?
MiM, not lookin for sympathy, and I knew you’d be able to relate. It was just extra crazy because it was non-stop action from the second we walked in the door. Little Miss is crying for Mom, and won’t let her do anything but hold her and stay on the couch, and I was trying to make steak (for fajita’s!) on the grill, cook shit on the stove, step over kids, inside, outside, back and forth, with crying from 1 kid, attitude and backtalk from the other. Not usual for La Casa de Ink!
N, I love that Prowler, I really do. It’s a highly abusive relationship, but I can’t get away
I really like the red idea, maybe 3 gray walls and a bright red one that I face when squatting (which is opposite when I DL, but I can just turn around) with a black arrow pointing up (think “STAND UP”). Could be cool, methinks. Couple posters would be cool too, or just larger prints of some motivational pics. Yeah, I like it!
Edgy, the 10 mile run is to “prepare” for the half marathon next weekend, just to actually be out for a couple hours so my body can experience it before raceday. There’s going to be thousands and thousands of people at the race, I don’t care where I place. I’m nly doing it because the wife wants to and I said I’d do it with her. She just wants to finish. No matter how long it takes or if she has to walk the whole thing (which she won’t, she’ll bust her ass), she wants to finish and I am good with that. 10 days until D-Day, and after that, I’ll hang up my running shoes!
Re: FINiBARs/whatever else you want to eat/drink during the half… don’t eat or drink anything the day of that you haven’t before. If your finibars come in before your run this weekend, try out what you were thinking of doing.
If they don’t, go pick up a runner’s gel or something else to use as a “pick me up” during the race. I’ve seen and heard stories of people trying something new on raceday and ended up in the port-o-potties along the way puking/shitting their brains out. However, I’d save it for a little under halfway through (whatever that means as far as time).
Here’s how my half went:
0-1mi - still antsy, trying to fall into my pace, so many people, freaking out
1-6mi - easy, in my grove, in my own world
6-7mi - suck suck suck. this is where i had my gel pack (during my long training runs this is where i’d always start to lose focus)
7-11mi - back in a grove
11-13.1mi - death dying dead. kept thinking “the end has to be just around this corner. no? okay then this corner”
This weekend eat your FINiBAR whenever you START feeling like you want to die. It’ll lift the fog and put you back “into” it. Let me know how the run goes ![]()
I knew you weren’t looking for sympathy…thought about going back and deleting that part…but alas.
I know EXACTLY how your wife feels!! My daughter was the exact same way when she was born, and um, now. Better now that shes mobile, but she’s such a mommy’s girl!
Hope today is better an Good luck with all that running…shudders just do it and just FINISH! ![]()
Thanks for the tips/input Court. I’ve been following the tracking info on the bars, and they should be here on Friday, and I’ll definitely try out my “plan” for raceday, and see how it works out. That’s awesome that when you ran yours, you were able to get back into a groove for 4 more miles. I’m hoping that when I hit the wall I can crawl to the finish!
MiM, definitely a mommy’s girl with this one. I can hold her, and if mom walks by she’ll lean out and whine for her. Really makes a dad feel important
And re: running…I’ll finish, no doubt about that. Will I be able to move for a week afterwards? Doubtful. I will be taking the next day off work though!
dude - running in a marathon cause your wife wants too?
that is AWESOME.
Glad to have you as a son.
sniff
remember, the more you suffer, the more it shows you really care. offspring.
Thanks Pops, I do what I can!
So last night’s training started out decent enough, then started to lose motivation and energy, and then I got hit with the 1 thing that can crush my mood to lift faster than a kick to the junk…crying baby!
Started out benching
Bar x some
135 x 10
175 x 10
205 x 5
225 x 6
245 x 1
Energy levels dropping…
Incline Bench
135 x 10 / 10
155 x 10
Floor Press
205 x 3 (Felt retardedly heavy, screw it, moving on)
Pendlay Rows
135 x 10 / 10
And then that’s when it started…
I hear the little miss crying over the moniter, pull my headphones out to verify, and waited. I waited for a couple minutes in hopes that she’d fall back asleep. My wife had just gotten back from her run and was going to shower, and didn’t want to go in to help the Miss because all that would do is lead the wife to be stuck in there with the Miss for a really long time (momma’s girl). So I threw the ipod on the floor, went upstairs, held her for a minute and laid her back down. She was out. But so was my drive to finish lifting or to go run. I couldn’t do it. Something about having to stop lifting for that reason kills me more than anything else. I don’t know why, just messes my mood up bad. So I sat on the couch, popped some BCAA’s, drank water, and watched a little TV before going to bed.
Damnit.
I’ll try to do something tonight, but planning on a long run tommorrow morning so I don’t want to do anything that’ll really hurt me there (but I probably will anyway!)
Did some weighted dips at work, for “fun”, but damn I was a lot more sore than I thought I was from yesterday
BWx5
+35 (I think, hard to remember how much tape was in the bucket!) x 10
+60 x 8
BW x 10
I’ll have to do these again next week, when I’m not already sore. Maybe before I leave work on chest day, to “warm-up” a bit. This way I can see how far behind Chi I really am…
awww, your a good daddy though!
Hang in there…
Thanks MiM, I try!
Well, did 9 miles this morning, easy pace and felt like I could have gone another 5 at that pace without stopping. The easy pace my wife sets is great for me because it’s only about 5mph, so it’s easy to keep up with. I wouldn’t be shocked to finish in 2:45, because today was 1:49 for about 2/3 of the distance of the race.
Felt great the whole time, left knee acted up for a mile or so but nothing I couldn’t handle. Had a FINiBAR before the start and a packet of GU at the 7 mile marker. They both worked well and I’d eat at least a half a bar around 10 or so I’m sure. The only issue I that they’re dense and take a lot of chewing and water (and time) to get down. I’m sure I’ll be fine and I’m not worried about it at all. I’m only worried I’ll like it and want to run another one!
Noooooo!
I ate big meal after, now I’m goin to PVC roll and soak in the bath for awhile to loosen up.
Any ideas why my hamstrings aren’t tight or sore at all, just my quads a bit, calves, and hip flexors? Could it just be from real short strides?
