Dude, is that thing really that hard? I don’t believe it. Its a damn shopping cart with weights on it.

Ok, so with barely any weight on it, no, the actual pushing part isn’t hard. It hits you when you stop to turn the bitch around. When it’s loaded up, it’s a constant drain on the legs to keep it moving, because once it stops, it’s tough to get it sliding again.

I’d love to put a basket on it though and run through the grocery store with it. Blast right through the checkout line!

7-23-10 5/3/1 Military Press

Well, after my warm-up, I did the “How many OHP reps with 135 can you get in a row?” Challenge that was brought up in another thread. Instead of the 130x5 that was written, I hit:

135x14, followed by 145x3, and 165x1

Then all I did was try handstand pushups, got 6, called it good. I was tired when I started, so it didn’t take long for me to tap out. At least I hit the prescribed reps in my work sets, isn’t all that matters?

Attempted one of the Official Prowler Challenges this morning.

140lbs loaded on Prowler

"With this Prowler challenge, you will sprint 40 yards with your hands on the horns, rest 60 seconds, and the sprint back 40 yards while on the highest low handle. You will rest another 60 seconds and start the dumbness again. Go until youâ??ve done 6 total sprints: 3 on the horns and 3 on the low handles.

The rest periods on this one need to be very well-monitored, so be sure to use a stopwatch or have someone time you."

Started out strong, on asphault (not as slick as the spot I’m used to) and made it 1 pass on the horns, 60 seconds later, back on the low bar, but got stapled about half way back and couldn’t get it to move anymore. Had my “spotter” help :frowning: Moved to the sidewalk thinking it’d be easier, nope. Wet grass? Fine, but my feet slipped like crazy. Made it down with on the horns for my 3rd sprint, and had to pull the 25’s off. The next pass on the low bar was hell. I stopped so many times and thought I was going to die. Not puke, just fucking die. Back on the horns, and finished on the bar. Rest times were a tad longer than 60 seconds, but that’s because I’m a huge vagina apparently.

Total time working out was 11 minutes. That’s it. Brother did it without the 25’s, took about 15 minutes. This “challenge” is the most brutal prowler session to date. I hate it. I’ll do it once a month though, imrpove my time, hopefully!

Taken too much time off. Last workout was the Prowler session on Saturday, planned on squatting Sunday, that didn’t happen, then Monday came and went with nothing, yesterday was the same way. Got a puppy on Friday, and taking time to make sure he doesn’t eat everything/shit everywhere/get into trouble is something I need to get used to. Today I’m going to squat though, for sure, dammit!

7-28-10 Squats

155x5, 175x5, 200x5 (got 11 on this set-felt goooood)

Assistance

Squats 135x5x10
Ab wheel with side planks superset (# of rollouts/seconds per side) 10reps/30sec, 10reps/45sec, 10rep/60sec

Jumprope 10 minutes

I haven’t done abs in forever, haven’t jumped rope in even longer. I’m going to be sore as shit tomorrow…hopefully icreased protein will help combat the DOMS.

BCAA’s help me.

Good numbers  Way to work dem abzzzzz.

Thanks FM, I will definitely continue to work my hawt abz (lol). And yes, it’s confirmed, I’m sore in everywhere that should be, nowhere that shouldn’t be.

Bench press tonight.

Last night’s 200x11

Most reps with highest weight done in a “5” week since starting 5/3/1, so that’s gotta count for something

Nice!! I’m kind of jealous of your home set up. I love it when guys can build ‘stuff’

I can build you one, or you can have mine when I feel like I can actually lift enough weight that it can’t handle it safely anymore

Oh so now you’re saying I can’t squat as much as you…

No no no, that’s not what I said! You could probably squat more than I can anyway, my squat (and everything else) stinks! Haha

7/29/10 Bench

180x5, 205x5, 230x5 (couldn’t have gotten more, usually can pull 6-8 out on this set in past weeks, but not tonight)

Assistance
Bench 155x10/10, 175x10/10, 185x10
BB Rows 155x10/10/10/10/10
BW Dips 10/10/10/10/10

Walked little Samson around the block afterwards.

Had a long break between main bench work and assistance due to the dog pissing on the carpet and having to clean it up. Fucker.

Off day tomorrow, might just do some sort of cardio, and then DL/OHP on Sat/Sun

That’s what it sounds like to me.
Followed by a poor attempt to redeem himself :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi. Can you come make me waffles? Thanks.

Oh and nice lifting.

Hey Court, sure thing, I’ll be there asap!

Oh, and thanks

Deadlifted last night, that’s all I got though. Didn’t get any assistance work in at all, due to Samson (the new puppy) running all over the place being annoying as shit.

225x5, 260x5, 295x5

Form felt good, just pissed that I couldn’t get more work in. OHP’s tonight.

Also toying with the idea of running the PF Chang’s Rock and Roll Half Marathon in January. Although, I’m even considering doing the full marathon, just to say I did it. Mind you, the longest I’ve run at one time was I think 8 miles in bootcamp, and then I did 5 miles last year, but I’m not a runner, and don’t remember the last time I actually ran any distance.

I have no aspirations of being a “runner” but my wife does want to, and I said I’d train and do the 1/2 with her, but I’m pretty much going to end my distance running career after that, so why not try and finish a full?

I’ll email you back about this over the weekend when I’m in Indy… remind me if you haven’t heard from me by Friday.

Oh, and if you’re going to keep a log, at least keep it on the first page. kthx.

8/2/10 Military Press

Warm-up
115x5
135x5
150x6
Last set felt good, hard, but solid.

HSPUs 5,4,1 (Last one was hurting my wrist so I stopped, probably had a couple more in my shoulders though)

Did some lateral raises to the rear, front, and side in an attempt to build up my delts a bit, more than just strengthening them for pressing.

Followed by a couple of bb curls and reverse curls for the girls.

Shoulders feel great today, biceps are a little sore, which is nice.

Off from weights today, but plan on getting some cardio in.
