I’ve been taking TRT since April, prescribed 150mg/wk. My prescription is a 200mg/mL concentration in Sesame Oil (Hikma), I’ve never had any pain or issues with this. Recently, I purchased a 250mg/mL concentration online (Dynamic Pharmaceuticals), the injection immediately caused throbbing pain and swelling that lasted about 5 days in my delt, I confirmed by doing the next injection in my quad, same results. Next, I purchased a 300mg/mL concentration (Fusion Pharma) with an MCT base, injected into my other quad with no immediate pain, however, 3 days later I have muscle bruising from this. Anybody experienced this with specific oils or concentrations?
Typ anything 300mg/ml and above will give you issues. Some labs are better than others with solvents used to suspend the hormone.
The oil is a different story. I’ve never had issue with different oils but some do. You have to find what works for you.
Typ pain/swelling will occur when you hit a muscle for the first couple times. Should get better after a few shots. If not it’s either the concentration or the oil.
Would diluting the concentration with more MCT oil work to reduce the pain?
Honestly I would not mess around as you could contaminate the oil.
I’d like to not waste them if there’s a way to dilute or reduce whatever might be causing the pain.
I have given you my suggestion. Test is cheap. Infection is not.
You do you.
Cost is not the problem, availability is.
Have you tried your glute? You prob hit something in your delt and prob the same in the quad. Glutes are the easiest with the least chance of error.
What size needles are you using?
Explain your injection technique
Haven’t done glute yet, but I’ve been using the same injection technique I always have. I injected my other delt today with the original brand (200mg/mL - Sesame Oil carrier) - no pain at all. With the higher concentrated stuff I could feel the pain starting as I was injecting it into my delt, inserting the needle didn’t hurt at all. I use a 25ga needle.
Idk man . I’ve had some pain but not swelling or bruising . I mean sometimes I hit something when I inject and it’s a little pain for a day . But it’s all manageable. But I never heard from those labs … I like to use pharmaqo , geneza , xt. Idk how you inject but if I get pain it’s not often . I just deal with it .
I use 23 gauge in glute. The idea of 25 gauge in my quad or delt makes my stomach turn. Everybody got their own preferences but not trying glute makes no sense to me. 30 years ago, you’d get on early day internet sites, a moderator at some point trusted you, and you were getting stuff by via sending cash western union and and an email address from like Poland and shit. Other sites might talk more about sources, have no clue, honestly. My research store has labs posted, I have my labs, friends labs that use there, etc., and seems fine. So different now. I suspect your issue could be how you are injecting. Have a friend that got terrible infection once. It was nasty. Had to take a round of antibiotics. Doesn’t sound like that at least.
I’m getting it too. Tonight is the worst, I’ve been injecting glutes and thigh with 23g. I alternate, but yeah I’ve never experienced pain before or soreness like this. I couldn’t walk up the flight of stairs. I’m using Stada Pharmaceuticals. I would tend to guess it’s the oil and the components. I used to use J&J and German pharmaceuticals and never had an issue other than very minor discomfort. I’m walking around like Quasimodo all the time. Tonight was the first time I used my alternate thigh so probably very sensitives from not being used.
Agree its prob the either the oil of what they are using in thr manufacturing process to dissolve the hormone into suspension. I would find a new lab to use.
I would also never use that big of a needle in the quad. I would get 27ga for quads/delts and 25ga for the glutes. You can just use the 23ga to draw it from the vial.
My vote for the cause of the pain is the BA (Benzyl Alcohol, a commonly used antibacterial agent) content is probably too high. Most UGL labs tend to use a bit more than necessary due to their often less than pharmaceutical-clean manufacturing processes. The solvent used to help preserve/suspend the mix is normally BB (benzyl benzoate) and that too can cause irritation if the percentage in the mixture is too high. Again, this is often higher than need be due to UGL’s trying to make up for potentially less than perfect manufacturing. When I used to make my own gear back in the day, I used the minimum % of BA/BB and I never had any issues…AND I was able to make my Test at a concentration of up to 400mg/mL without bad pain. There was some slight discomfort, but not outright pain like when folks used to use brands from Mexico like Quality Vet or TTokyo. Damn, does anyone else remember those brands? Or am I really aging myself?
Also, the best part of making your own gear is you can choose the concentration of the particular steroid you are brewing, like I always made my Equipoise at 400mg/mL in order to cut down on injection volume. Then you can also make cool combination vials too, like making test prop/tren acetate in the same vial, again cutting down on the number and volume of injections. This was back when you could easily get the raw hormone powders (or in the case of EQ, the raw steroid is in a liquid/gel form) and all the necessary lab supplies to measure, heat, filter, etc. The cost savings was also astronomical!
I’m not sure what is considered high for BB/BA, but this Fusion brand contains 0.2mL/mL of BB and 9.45mg/mL of BA. I diluted my shot today 1:1 with MCT oil, so far no pain in the quad (25ga needle). If anyone has any reputable sources that ship to Canada I’m all ears.
I used to get Jelfa redo-jets in TJ and andriol. I would also get 250mg ampules of Jelfa
That was the only brands that I trusted down there.
Which brand MCT oil did you use? And what do you do to insure no cross contamination?
BN Chem Sterile MCT Oil. I just drew the Test with one tip, then put on another tip and drew the MCT oil. Not sure I’m worried about cross contamination, it’s the only thing I’m using it for.
I think you might have written the % BA incorrectly, as that is sky high! If my memory serves me right, I would only use the minimum % BA in my vials, I want to say it was like only 2%. I’m sure you can find that info now all over the internet, but point is you don’t need a ton to kill any germs. The higher you go the more pain you get. But as I said, reason so many just dump a bunch in their vials is due to dirty mfg. practices, OR they don’t even trust the sterility of their raw sources.
I also preferred to use walnut oil as my carrier oil as it was thin.
