Info About Massage

It’s going to look weird if I admit to having had my girlfriend work me over with a rolling pin, isn’t it?

Did she get the whole pin in or just the handle? I think the degree of weirdness depends on your answer.

“I think it moved.”

I know, the pic is from a different episode, but I thought it fit.

Of course she used the whole thing.

What kind of wuss would I be if she only used the handle?

Realy though- After heavy deads on Saturday I was hurting on Sunday.

I figured a rolling pin would be as good or maybe better than a foam roller. Starting with the bottoms of my feet, I had her roll out my entire posterior.

It worked realy well. My legs and back feel better than they ever have.

I don’t know…if I’m looking for a real, deep tissue, productive massage, I want the biggest mo-fo they got to do it. Some skinny little girl giving me a light rub-down isn’t going to cut it (hey, I’m happily married. My wife does all the rub down action for me). I only had one professional massage and it wasn’t very good. Kind of weird having another woman rub my back (I hear the single guys calling me a puss). Now, when I had serious back problems and saw a real D.O., that dude broke me down shotgun style and did stuff that actually scared me and caused physical pain. But in the end he fixed my back and it feels great.

Those “relaxation” rub downs are almost worthless.

What’s a D.O.?

Skyz, this could come back to haunt ya. I’d dig a foxhole now.

Using a spoon?

Might as well. I got hip deep with a rolling pin!

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He’s an actual medical doctor, but specializes in bones, joints and muscles. He’s like a chiropractor, but with a much bigger bag of tricks. Chiropractors are not doctors. If you have a choice, see a D.O, not a chiropractor. However, massage therapy is something completely different.

Well folks I 'm sure happy everyone has had fun with my nick name Big Bob. Just because a guy gives another guy a massage doesn’t make him gay so I guess continue to make fun of my name if that is what makes you happy - no offense.

Deep tissue massage is great because it helps to tear down the muscle so that it can rebuild itself stronger-a lot like bodybuilding. Swedish is a great technique but is better used in a spa setting. Sport massage is great to use on folks who are involved with sports and such.

You can make a world of difference to the athlete before he or she competes. There are so many more techniques out there such as Tragger, Neuromuscular therapy, Thai, Trigger Point therapy and Reflexology. Now there are others out there but these sem to be the most used.

By the way the reason I’m called Big Bob wasn’t because I was in prison but because I am a former powerlifter and the folks in the gym just called me Big Bob rather than my Christian name that my mother gave me which is Robert. God bless and if you get a chance try massage and if you are a guy and don’t want another man to touch you then don’t!

Just ask for a lady therapist I’m sure this can be done.
I have two web sites
bigthunderdesigns.com and feelbetter101.net
Still a lot work being done to them but visit if you get a chance.

M.D. and D.O. are the only types of physicians recognized in the the USA.

Actually, a DC (doctor of chiropractic) and a DO (doctor of osteopathy), are pretty much equally qualified. The only real difference is that DCs have a bigger ‘bag of tricks’ because we are qualified to take and interpret x-rays, whereas DOs are not.

At least, thats how it works here in the UK, and I understand that there are some shockingly bad DCs over there in the US…

Not even close. A D.O. is an actual medical doctor (medical school, residency, the whole thing). A chiropractor is more like a Physical Therapist (never heard of a DC), yes he has a lot of training, but he is not a doctor.
