Inflammation from Food?

It’s not hype. There’s a good graphic that if you google inflammation and click images, should pop up.

You can add cancer, T2 diabetes, cataracts, etc to that list as well.

Perhaps google IL-6 / interluekin-6 / cytokines, for more info.

4 dietary keys to reduce inflammation.

  1. reduce sugar
  2. reduce vegetable oils and consume more omega-3s
  3. eliminate trans fat
  4. this may be a bit controversial, but reduce/eliminate wheat/gluten

and of course don’t smoke, eat organic produce, reduce stress, get good sleep[/quote]

  1. vegetable oils… does that include olive oil?

Technically olives are fruit. For the most part when people recommending ditching the veg oils its canola, corn etc.

I’ve never seen any one make recommendations against EVOO or EVCO.

That woman seems to think that industry is at the base of everything.
For instance, she says that the vegetable oil industry orchestrated a plan to demonize saturated fats and cholesterol and that nothing of what they said is supported by science. Then the soy industry wanted to get rid of ‘exotic’ oils like coconut and palm oil. Saying they invented/accused the oils of crimes they didn’t commit.
Next she says that it was because of industry that the Mediterranean diet and olive oil kick started. Does this seem logical to you?

On a different note, she says that when they fed rats canola oil they developed lots of problems. Ok, fair enough. There are studies that show this, but there are even more studies that show the negatives of saturated fats and cholesterol in rat feeding studies. Sorry, but that is a massive omission/outright lie (based on the no science comment).

OP, diet can significantly regulate inflammation. If you are physically active; consume ample omega-3s, vegetables and fruit (variety of food will go a long way); and keep body fat levels down, then you will likely avoid any lifestyle/aging related chronic systemic inflammation.

she’s put on some weight, probably gone through menopause though in the most recent stuff I’ve seen from her.

And she’s saying eat coconut oil over soybean and shit, so I like her, naked.
