I’ve been on 200mg of Test for about 8 weeks now. Zero side effects. Seeing increases in size and strength, but I’d like to see more. I don’t see any negatives to increasing the dose. If I end up with some side effects, I can always titrate back down. Good idea? Bad idea? Anyone start at a dose and increase up until a negative side and dial it back to you get max benefit with no cost?
Lol
I get the impression you couldnt actually tell me what the side effects are without Google’s help.
But if you’re looking for permission from some random person on the internet to do what you were going to do anyways, then yeah man - pedal to the metal.
What duration do you plan on running Test? This doesn’t sound like TRT so I’ll assume its a light cycle?
I understand from my Google search that one of the side effects is becoming a chronic asshole. When did you notice this side effect and what dosage are you on?
Well that got heated quickly. Good retort though, I really chuckled. In all seriousness, can you describe why you started taking Test (C?) and how long you plan to run it. 200mg is a high end replacement dose, but for blasting/cycling its typically 300-500mg. Most folks do ‘ok’ in that range with very little sides although some have E2 issues on the higher end of that range. Once you get sides, its hard to deal with them sometimes and best to avoid them all together. Once your higher Test levels are built up to give you those side effects it can take awhile after lowering your dose for cessation.
It is TRT. I’m 51 yoa. I started with pellets initially but didn’t see a tremendous benefit, really no benefit. Switched to injections at 200mg 8 weeks ago. My initial blood test had me around 265. My last blood test (at the trough) was 860. My purpose in getting on it was to increase lean muscle mass and maintain that as I continue to age. (I’ve seen my Dad get frail and lose a lot of function simply because of the sarcopenia and really severe low back pain). I want to avoid that at all costs. I had surgery on my low back in March 2023 (disc replacement at L4/5). The surgery was quite successful and I was able to be back in the gym pretty strong in June. I feel the testosterone has helped with increasing muscle mass, sleep is better, mood is stable (pretty much always has been), libido strong, no gynecomastia, my estradiol is normal, etc. So I figure the old adage might be true “if a little is working well, more will work better.” I’m obviously new to this so I figured rather then asking a “random person on the internet” if I had a question about Testosterone use why not go to a website called “Testosterone Nation”. I figuredsome trial and error might be in order to get to a optimal dosage. I appreciate your response to the query.
I loled
Well before my first pin.
I think you should give it more than 8 weeks before bumping dosage RE side effects, but it seems most people top out around 250mg without sides.
I’m gyno sensitive so i do better on <120mg but it differs from one person to the next.
I wouldn’t recommend pushing dosage high enough to need AI. It’s not best suited for long term use. Good to have on hand though.
Keep an eye on blood pressure and HCT.
Great response. Enjoyed the ball bustin’.
Roger that. My HCT was a bit high so I’m on methyl-folate. I’ll probably roll through what I have (6 month supply) and get new labs and see where I’m at and maybe adjust up then. Thanks for the thoughts and info.
Ok so this is good. TBH I think 200mg is good enough for muscle growth. I’ve tried 200, 300, 400, and 500 all with diminishing returns as I go up. Also, for longevity I would want my labs in range at trough for,the most part or close to it. IMO give it another 6-8 weeks before doing anything.
Check out what this guy stated as a point of reference…
Great stuff, exactly the insight I was looking for. Just because some is good doesn’t always mean more is better. I appreciate the insight.
Blood pressure would be what I look out for
