Increasing doage of trt at 17

Hello, im currently on 100mg sustanon per 2 week of trt due to hypogonadism. The doctor has declined decreasing dose due to reduced growth tradjectory, would it be unwise to self administer a further 100mg per week to minimise the troughs and overall feel better. Currently sitting at 3.4 nnmol/L at two week trough. Fyi, I started trt 4 weeks ago and the hypogonadism was due to trauma which stopped t production.

I think its inappropriate to advise a minor in this situation.

You don’t adjust dose only four weeks. It takes. A couple months for your body to find homeostasis.

Yes.

Yep. Especially is it’s truly sustanon due to the very long half life of the decanoate ester and the arachis oil itself.

But looking at the pharmokenetics, the vMax is reached within 24-48 hours, infact the spike is inferior to a medium ester like ethanoate. Thus my concern is my current dose leaves me strongly hypogonadal for a week and a half.

Why not just switch to 50mg/wk?
If you just started 4 weeks ago then the test has not reached full blood serum yet so your trough levels mean nothing right now. You’ve only had 2 shots.
Also anytime your posting bloodwork values you need to post the ranges. Different labs use different ranges.
You need to be patient here. It takes months for most to get “dialed in”.
I would switch to weekly injections and wait another 4 weeks and see how your feeling and what your bloods are doing.

Decanoate is 100 mg of the 250 mg total.
It’s half life is 10 days.

So it takes 5 times the half life to totally clear your system.

  1. I wouldn’t mind keeping the dose at 100mg every two weeks and injecting more frequently, however, that is not an option for me and I have the 100mg every two weeks. However, i could use the rest of the vial after visiting the gp to do a surplus amount extra at some point within those two weeks hence my question.
  2. Could you provide clarity on what you mean by blood serum, as far as pharmokinetics i thought based on plotting the half life, that the actual overlap or “build up” with 2wk dosing was very minimal.
  3. Thanks for helping

1- Do you go in for every shot or do they give you the vile?
2- Blood serum means the level of concentration of the hormone in your blood. Different test esters take different times. Sustanon has multiple esters mixed into the same vial.
You can use the below link to calc it out.

3-Welcome. Ask questions. There is a ton of knowledge on the board.

  1. I go in for every prescribed shot, but i can take the rest of the vial and thus could technically pull it into a syringe and save to use for a point in the week.
  2. Yes, I think that is the site I used and why I chose to have a blood test done so early in, as I found that my trough levels would barely change over time.
  3. I will try to convince the gp, to allow me to administer at home so I can do what I believe is ideal for my current age ( 20mg eod) but for now would you recommend just staying at 100mg or doing a top up injection in the middle of say 50 mg.

1-If your getting the prescribed amount every two weeks then you are pretty much stuck unless you can get them to give you 1/2 and do the other half on your ow.
2-Until you are at steady state your trough will not be as high as it will be when you are at steady state.
3-I would stay where you are for at least 8 weeks after you make any kind of change whether it’s a dose or injection frequency change.. This will give your body the proper time to adjust.

Don’t get hung up on numbers. How you feel is important. How do you feel now as compared to 4 weeks ago?

I believe I feel slightly better as compared to 4 weeks ago, but I was only testing at 0.4-0.9 with a reference range of 10-30 nnmol/L prior to treatment so I believe any increase in test would see benefits. I also certainly still have significant fatigue, brain fog etc and I don’t believe still being hypogonadal during treatment is exactly benefiting this.

But yet, advice flows freely.

Im 17 receiving nhs treatment and have been upfront about the situation, not exactly running a cycle.

I was always under the impression giving advice under a certain age was taboo.

Whoes paying for your medical?

Healthcare is free in the uk.

I understand but I assume your doctor knows more of your situation than a stranger online who’s only read a few sentences about your condition. There’s a lot going on physiologically-test results, blood markers and such- no one here is privy to. And, if you’re looking to skirt your doctors advice, yeah, you kinda are running a cycle.

100mg of Sust E2W is nothing. I’d get a new Dr. and stop wasting your money. Sust has a 1/2 life of about a week. No wonder you feel like shit!At 4 weeks your blood level ahould be at a theraputic level but dosing every 2 weeks you cant get a stable level because most of the effctive dose of Sust has left your system. My Dr has me on 210mg/ week test c, but I dose every day. .15 cc of 200mg. My levels are stable, I have no crashes. You can inject Sub cu or IM. SUB CU stays in system a bit longer. For me sust hurts like a motherfucker! Im not telling you to do anything other than consult another dr. What you are saying just doesnt sound legit.
