In It for the Long Run: 260kg Deadlift, 200kg Front Squat, 130kg Log Press

Mate 120 in 10 mins is a solid workout. Nice

Thanks. You know what - and not humble brag but it wasn’t even a massive push. Just a touch out if breath. I did sets of 20. Then rested till breathing returned to normalish.

Upper body work out today.
Press 3,3,4 at 80kg. This is almost unmoved since last month. BUT I think this is because it’s at such a high threshold of ability. When 5 reps is your max moving from 3x3 to 3x4 is HARD. After this strip set of BTNP starting at 50kg stopping every 10 until 10kg. Total burn out.
12,6,6,6,8,10. Delts fried.

Kroc rows 40 at 40kg. I hate rows.

After this curls (bar only). After this got silly again. And I’m gonna take some time here to be a bit “soft”.

I went to do a few rounds of press ups, pull a parts and extensions. But I remembered @T3hPwnisher 's “I deadlifted until my face exploded” I’d read that morning.
The word inspiring is throw about A LOT. Lots of people try to be. But so often they miss the mark. It’s because they celebrate the end. Not the process. But you sir “inspire effort”. In me at least. The bar is set. I can not imagine saying “That as enough effort for today” and meaning it. Every time I think I’m done I look the standards you set and I know I’m well behind the curve.

So I did the Fran using inverted rows. In about 5 mins.

And I will be doing some more exercise later today. Maybe Tabata front squats. Or another 10mins of burpees.

Really appreciate those words dude. You’re getting after it too! There’s always a little more out there if we want it.

Thank you. But in all honesty I’m trying keep up with the pace you set. Maybe I’ll get there. But I’m a way off right now. Just know that - even in one day I’ve done 120 burpees and a Fran I would not normally. And I’m gonna see about doing some pre bed time burpees when I get in.

As I say the bar is set. And I’m enjoying trying to reach it!

Log press conditioning
4x 60 on / off
Managed 13,12,11,11
That’s 47 reps not including warm ups.

Next was Tabata front squats.
8,7,7,7,76,6,6.

The difference between being rested and unrested for these. It’s insane how much harder they are after doing the log.

Not quite 30 mins but in counting it as 30. It was hard enough to count.
No pre breakfast burpees today. I’ve spent all day waiting in a very important call. I had to wait till after 17:30 to exercise.

Still didn’t get the call either

140 Burpees pre breakfast

Also weighed myself - I said I wouldn’t. But I’m weak like that. No weight loss evident. Not sure how much harder I can work out. I’m doing SO much. But I feel too broken to eat less.

But - I must trust the process. If I’m still no lighter (105) next week (May 16th) I will adjust. Not before.

Some rest day.

EMOMS
20 sand bag dead lifts
15 press-ups
15 rows
11 Burpees.

Total:
200 deadlifts
150 press ups
150 rows
110 burpees (250 for the day)

Took 40 mins obviously. Toyed with 30 on 30 off. Fail. Just up reps next time.

No massive multi WOD. Had family stuff and a touch of hang over.
In its place a 5 mile walk with a 20kg bergen. Stared as a 2 mile thing but got well into it.

First thing in the morning:
145 burpees in 10mins.

Of course I rounded it up 150. Not gonna leave 5 hanging out like that.
Another weight in. Back to 107.0. Devastating. However my eating (and drinking) have not been good. A shocking 2 weekends on that front.
No panic yet. I said 1 more week before I made changes. This week is still maximum effort with good solid food. No junk.

You now what - it didn’t feel too bad either. Until the last 15. I looked at the timer and it had 1:04 left and I was on 130… I though “150 would be nice. And 20 in 1 min is not too hard” and went for it. Ended up 5 short but that’s not the point.
Even before breakfast I had a simple healthy start to the day. I chucked on a few bits of deli meat safe in the knowledge I was already in credit for the day.

Still trying to think of to do this afternoon. I had planned the Monument to non-existence yesterday. And I should do it today. But in the week time is limited. I have to pick my boys up from school and do the house hole stuff. So I never get a good hour to work out.
I think I will just start and see how far along I get in 45mins. As that’s all I have in reality.
Subs:
Fran will be inverted ring rows.
Stone to shoulder will be timber to shoulder. If I get that far.

So - 30 mins (ish) for the “Monument”. Wow. Just wow. Did ring inverted rows and tire flips for the stone to shoulder. But that’s what I have equipment wise.

What a “fun” activity. Video below at some point. Warning - I’m shirtless.

Edit:

About half way through Fran my boy (eldest) comes out. Asks me what I’m doing.
“I started with 20 squats, 20 dead lifts. Ow I’m half way through Fran.” I reply in between breaths.
Wide eyed he inhales in shock. “Wow”.
“After that I’ve got Grace and 15 tire flips”.
He looks over my shoulder. See the tire out. And log on the grass. He just puts a fist out there to bump. The look of bewilderment still all over his face.

This ladies and gents is why I train. My son thinks I’m amazing. I have his respect.

Man, that’s just fantastic. Excited for the video. Definitely some growing going on.

I only videoed the last 5 tire flips. The whole thing would be boring. I just got the last 5 tire flips.

Again warning - fat man topless.

And thank you.

I messed about with my training days and I was due for an off day yesterday. So that got bumped to today. I was about to do my 10mins exercise and I got caught in a phone call about a new job (BTW my contract for work is up and it time to look for a new job again).

Over all I need this day off. I’m very tired. I have DRASTICALLY reduced calories for today. Which is fine. I’ve eaten “enough” - about 2000. With 4 eggs and a shed load of chicken and 100g of nuts. So protein is high.

Another reason to get easy today is - I have work calls from 15:00 until 17:00 tomorrow. And I struggle to get up and at them if I’m in a deficit and trained. So - go easy today. Makes getting up easier and then I can smash the leg work out.
140kg - for 2 sets of 4-5. I must get 9 reps total. As I got 8 last time. A single rep over 2 sets if not a lot.
Then - “leg day” finisher. 14-19-20 with 110kg.

Depending on the time I might then look at flipping the tire a few times. Just to finish off after the finisher as it were. Who knows.

EDIT:

As some will know I know when I’m doing well as my wife wants to join in. But she alwayy gets to a point that she finds hard and stops. Well - we have it figured out. She is doing burpees on the sand bag. And she is doing well.
She started with 5x5 - and is now at 100. Straight through in about 10 mins. To make them harder we are not doing 10 burpees and 1 dead lift of the 60kg bag. 4 rounds. Over time this will get to 10 rounds. And then the number of dead lifts will go up.

If she can do 100 burpees with 100 60kg dead lifts in 10mins 1st I’d be amazed. Secondly she’ll hit all of her body goals. I’m sure. This post is more a well done to her. She is sticking with this one. And I’m dead proud.

Massive respect to your wife for getting those burpees done and having a really sound plan to progress. Made me smile big time to read this. Quality

Some serious traps on display there. I’d imagine your neighbours look on with pure incredulity.

When does the ambulance training start?

Thank you. I’ll pass it on. She’s not enjoying a single on of them. BUT she is seeing some results. And (in 100% honest terms) she needs to drop some weight. For health reasons. And to keep up with the kids.

Thank you. I never knew I had “trap” until my wife pointed them out a few years back. She came over and just said “I never knew thee muscles could get bigger”. I was very happy about that. You can’t fake traps.

HA - a bit yeah. The next doors kids used to really stare. But now I think everyone is used to it. Its strange, how quickly strange becomes normal.

TL:DR
No idea

Long story:
My licence came through the post last month. And I now have everything I need to apply for the a position with London or South East Coast Ambulance Service. However when I went to apply for the role the system crashed. And I missed the dead line.
3 days later the job was re-advertised. Interview dates were on a Saturday I’m away. As in 100% can not do both. At the moment I’m looking at a potential 8-12 month wait to join. (2-3 months for the advert to come out, 2-3 for the advert to run, 2-3 month section process, 2-3 months after offer to start). This is worst case. The next advert could come out the day this one closes, and the selection process could be 4 weeks. But I’d rather tell my self 8-12 months and have it done in 6, than the other way around.

Weight - 105.4kg that’s the lightest I’ve been for a month.
Also had to move my belt down another notch. Now at its smallest setting. Boom. Even if I’ve not lost weight, I’ve Iost belly fat. Which is good. But I’m never going to be 105kg ripped as fuck. So I need to drop some actual weight right now.

Front squat 140kg
2x5
Then leg day there after. I have a job interview in 90mins so no conditioning yet. I would add on tire flips if I could. But I think I will just aim for 100 burpees after dinner.
