I agree with PimpBot5000. I’m 6 feet on the nose thank the gods (183cm) but if a magical fairy daintily proffered a wish for changing one thing about my body I’d add two inches to my height…maybe 3, but yeah, PB5000’s right that if you get too tall you’ll just look like all knees and elbows.

I think there’s something about a guy who’s 5’7" or 8" that if he’s big enough 9and that doesn’t mean huge) and if he holds himself right then he basically doesn’t seem diminutive at all.
One of my old army buddies is 5’8" and I recall one time we went to a burger place and there were 3 or 4 20 year-old guys in front of us (we were about 25 ourselves at the time) and my buddy was in front of me,saw them all order the famous burger from that place…so he says something innocuous like “getting the special huh?” and one of the guys gave him the dirtiest look (he was a knees and elbows type about 6’5" 175lbs) so my buddy just shook his head and laughed, so I did too and the kid got a kind of “Shit that didn’t go as planned” look.
Sorry that story couldn’t be cooler, but my buddy just looked great.
Here’s a pic of him in Afghanistan next to the Stanley Cup…which every good Canadian knows is 35 and 1/4 inches tall.

Intimidation is so much more than height or muscularity.
Somebody can be 6’3" like my sister’s bf… he has a voice like a raging homo and weighs 140lbs… I don’t think anybody would think he was intimidating.
But then there are those like myself who are under 5’5" (I’m 5’2") and some people have told me that they find me intimidating because of things like my general facial expression (generally I look angry, I’m told) and the fact I subconsciously square up with everybody I talk to (my bestfriend pointed this out to me). I can also be somewhat of a cocky bastard at times as well. For some reason, people on occasion do find this to be intimidating.
I noticed the same of my father so I can assume I ‘learned’ this ‘intimidating’ demeanor when I was young.
However, I am most definitely positive most ‘tall’ people just look at me and think “lol babyface midget”.
But what I am saying is…
intimidation is a combination of many things:
Height CAN be a factor;
Muscularity CAN be a factor;
The way one communicates CAN be a factor;
How much one displays anger CAN be a factor;
Confidence CAN be a factor;
Facial expressions CAN be a factor;
Position in a hierarchy CAN be a factor;
etc.
Some tall guys are intimidating.
Some tall guys are push-over teddy bears. 
Same for muscular guys.
Intimidation is very dependent on circumstance/situation and the individual.
