I'm Getting Worried: The Erosion of Our Rights

It’s used to refer to a standardized, “proper”, Spanish. But it is still Spanish. Thus, if someone in Mexico is speaking Spanish, he is speaking Castellano. He may not speak it the same way as someone in Madrid, but they are still speaking the same language.

Also, castellano does not refer to people from Spain as the Basques and Catalans, among others, would take issue.

i am sure that is how it is considered in Spain, that is not how it is viewed in Latin America. Correct epends on where you are.

In some Latin American nations, castellano is used more than español.

Trump plans on signing an executive order tomorrow on social media companies.

Earlier in the day trump said he could regulate or shut them down.

Essentially, if you call out trump on his lies, he will shut your company down. But don’t forget, masks in a pandemic are the real threat here.

Dear Lord, we’re all doomed. I’m not joking. @Legalsteel will surely find this excerpt equally disturbing…

When Zuckerberg was a junior in high school, he transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy, where he spent most of his time coding, fencing, and studying Latin. Ancient Rome became a lifelong fascination, first because of the language (“It’s very much like coding or math, and so I appreciated that”) and then because of the history. Zuckerberg told me, “You have all these good and bad and complex figures. I think Augustus is one of the most fascinating. Basically, through a really harsh approach, he established two hundred years of world peace.

“On the one hand, world peace is a long-term goal that people talk about today. Two hundred years feels unattainable.” On the other hand, he said, “that didn’t come for free, and he had to do certain things.” In 2012, Zuckerberg and Chan spent their honeymoon in Rome. He later said, “My wife was making fun of me, saying she thought there were three people on the honeymoon: me, her, and Augustus. All the photos were different sculptures of Augustus.” The couple named their second daughter August.

Gotta say, anyone who reads that period and thinks ‘Augustus is the one I most want to emulate’ should be sectioned immediately.

For an alleged fan of Augustus, he’s got an interesting definition of “world peace”.

I think primus princeps is the concept that got his attention.

A make-believe Senate performing a yearly ritual - begging a lowly “first citizen” to keep the reins of power for just one more year…

I thought you didn’t believe in NWO, ‘conspiracy theories’ of control over finances, Revelation type prophecies, and the like? Am I mistaken or are you seeing a Trumpian narcissism combined with a high powered brain?

“World peace”? Three legions were annihilated in the Teutoberg Forrest during his reign. Internal stability maybe, not world peace.

Si vis pacem, para bellum

He has an interesting definition of the world. You would think being married to someone of Chinese descent he would know there was a world outside of Rome.

Possibly the most american headline i have seen in my lifetime

“President Trump evacuated to bunker as protests near White House”.

America is basically gone.

Where did it go?

Down the drain of history thanks mostly to people in California.

California sounds pretty powerful.

He’s created some really weird ass topics. Must be from Florida.
