I'm Getting Worried: The Erosion of Our Rights

I just feel like, often, people with views like yourself watch those videos and say things like “Well we don’t know what really happened.” Stuff like that. Not saying that’s wrong - in fact, it’s often true.

You just seem to be sharing these clips of scenes that none of us were present for, and getting pretty mad about them despite not knowing exactly what happened. I’m not saying your anger towards these situations is wrong.

I simply just wondered if you view the black people videos the same way or not. That’s it. It just seems like you’re mad about these Corona videos because you seem to be mad about most things regarding it right now. Was curious if you would view other types of videos the same way or if it’s because this is an issue that you are upset about at the moment.

That is true and if more detail comes out, like he was spitting on other passengers, I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong.

I’m simply sharing videos that go with the theme of the thread under current conditions. I’m not angry so much as I am frustrated with the current situation.

The guy in the video appears to be black…

With most things I just think we’re taking things too far. Look at Michigan’s new EO that goes in effect tomorrow:

This part is classic:image

Translation: I’m happy the sick peasants in the city can’t infect me in my upscale neighborhood, but it’s bullshit that I can’t plant my garden.

I didn’t watch it.

I was just curious dude. No ill intent - I generally like you, as an online stranger. Do you still have your online store? I’ve been curious about people with those - I feel like more customers would have free time to online shop but also less money right now.

No worries, man. I enjoyed the conversation.

The website is still up and running. I’m doing better using established storefronts (like Displate and Redbubble), but it’s doing alright.

There is a big problem with people from metros with virus hotspots, breaking quarantine and traveling to their second homes in ski/mtn towns. They carry the virus with them and become vectors of the spread in those rural areas very ill equiped to deal with any kind of mass hospitalization need.

I can assure you, the folks living full-time in mtn towns are not the wealthy folk you imagine. The second homeowners on the other hand…

FWIW, I get why you find this troubling. And I have reservations about it too. But, my feeling is along the lines of, we tried to rely on people to voluntarily do the right thing and they wouldn’t, so now they will temporarily be forced. And I do think it’s temporary, and I do think it should face pushback so it’s not in place a moment longer than absolutely needed.

It reads to me like all travel is banned between residences (not necessarily your own) with few exception. Like you can’t go to your girlfriend’s house because, “All public and private gatherings of any size are prohibited," Whitmer said

Yep, and I get why you have a big issue with it. I edited my post above right before you posted.

Too many selfish assholes making detrimental decisions when those decisions were voluntary. So that right gets temporarily rescinded.

Instead of law/govt enforcement, would you be more in favor of private citizen/vigilante enforcement?

I used to live in Michigan and I will be keeping a close eye as the governor just took a HARD authoritarian turn. I’m shocked.

Keep your eyes open.

It’s racism.

Nice.

Like, if private citizens see someone cough in public they can take him into custody and keep him in one of their basements? Maybe make him put the lotion the lotion on his skin?

I(and I think @anon50325502) think it would be better if those worried about this stuff self-quarantine, and those that aren’t worried continue with life. You know, like usual but with the knowledge that one is taking this risk along with the other risks of day-to-day life.

I’m not really sure what you’re asking? I would prefer trained law enforcement to enforce laws.

The state with by-far the two best members of Congress also has this guy.

Edit: He and I are asking whether you think COVID-19 laws should be enforced by this guy.

“It” as in “this incident,” or “It” as in everything? I totally agree with the latter.

I was just trying to get out in front of someone making that claim. I should have scrolled because someone already went there. What a joke. Watching the fabric of decency start to tear in people and skin color is the focus.

Sounds like you’re a damn landlord.

Not sure if this was posted yet.

I’m not sure if you’re referring to me or not but that’s absolutely not what I was doing…I don’t think the virus is racist, and anyone who suggests so is a loon. It looks like it does affect poorer communities hardest which tend to be racial minorities but that’s nothing new.

If you weren’t referring to me then ignore me, haha.
