PX,Itchy,FTG,applesauce,johnward82 and all others affected by the hurricane,
I hope you are doing well.
When Isabel tore through coastal VA it sucked bigtime. and Ike looks like it was much worse. God Bless.
and to those that would pass by their fellow man and deny him help - you can keep your so called “morality”.
If you don’t like the way the system works you still have choices- do something to change the system, accept it for what it is, or leave the country with your remaining “wealth”

Classic case in point — thinks that need is a claim on the resources of others. Your NEED gives you a right…to nothing. No one owes you or Texans or anyone else anything. We might be benevolent and help you. However, when you send your hired IRS thugs to grab our money under the auspices of relieving your woeful needs, we just might say ‘NO!’ one of these days. What happens when you run out of victims or the victims simply refuse to help you?
All your shrieking for help and how you need our money are falling on ears that grow more ‘deaf’ by the day. Our money is OURS, not your resource to run to when the sewage system by your vacation home is overwhelmed by a hurricane. You CHOSE to live there. Pay your own bills. ASK for help, but DO NOT demand — if you demand, then you can and should get a big fucking middle finger.

Does it make you feel better about yourself to use vague references which you know the average lay person won’t pick up on? Because it doesn’t make you look smart, just snobbish, Will Hunting.
I find it interesting how posters recommend someone leave the country, but they won’t move from a hurricane zone, indeed build homes that are on an island IN a hurricane zone. Or they live in a city that is 9 feet below sea level, then get mad when the government can’t save them.
What a bunch of absolute retards…pathetic…
No wonder the Dems took over Congress and soon the White House…the Deltas and Epsilons (from Huxley’s Brave New World) get the vote. Amazing…

That was ‘Good’. Good luck with the hurricane relief, btw. Hope repairs are going well and that normalcy returns soon.

This isn’t my point. Go back and read my posts and then address the points made directly.

Not sure. I’ve been staying out late no problems. Last friday I met a buddy at 3:00am to head down to Matagorda Bay for some deep sea fishing, cars everywhere up and down Westheimer.

Many 14 and 15 hour days would testify against that. My uncle took me into the business at first as a simple hire, then sold me portions of the ownership because he wanted to retire.
The parasites would be you. I never demand, I engage in trade (work for money, ownership for money). You guys don’t ask you just expect help because you ‘deserve’ it. Bunch of losers.

I bet you wouldn’t have the stones to say this in person.

Who is that in your avatar?[/quote]
It’s suppose to be Perrin from “The Wheel of Time” series by Robert Jordan. Great series if you like the “sword and sandels” types of books. He’s written a couple of Conan novels that are great also.

I’ll have to check it out as soon as I’m done with what I’m reading now.

When I was reading Terry Goodkind’s “Sword of Truth” novels, everyone would mention Jordan’s books and they are excellant. Plus, the final book is already out so once you finish one, you don’t have to wait for the other one to be released. What are you reading now?

I’m in the middle of Damnation Alley by Roger Zelazny, one of my favorite authors–but I’m not really feeling the book. So far it just hasn’t been interesting, unlike just about everything else of his I’ve read. The main character seems too plastic, and the plot is still kind of vague.
