Here is the latest projection map from Centerpoint.
I don’t know if the hyperlink will show up–if not, just paste it into your browser.
I talked to a friend of mine who lives in Katy and things are fine over there, he said the only thing he worries about is when he drives into Houston for work.

Who is your friend? I grew up in Katy, graduated Taylor High School '02.
No, they stole it from Ohio while it was busy jerking off Indiana.
The third time I read this post, and it still made me laugh.
You must have NO life.

Well, not lately. I mean, I’ve been spending most of my free time lately counting my stacks of ill-gotten money and rebuilding my vacation home, jackass. Your multiple-thousand dollar contribution is helping immensely, thanks.

We decided to use our “Indiana/Ohio ill gotten gains” for a vacation to Hawaii. Sure, we COULD have used the massive funds coming from those two states to buy a new flat screen like EVERYONE else in Houston and Galveston, but we wanted to be different.

Hell I bought a Porsche and three Mercedes Benzs myself. Ohio has really been a cash cow lately. Who would have thought wheat could be so profitable?

We’re both from Mansfield, La., but I lived in Katy for a few months and I really enjoyed the area. He works for a company that just got the Army contract for building their new line of combat trucks. I think Stevens and Stevens, but I am not sure.

Ah, yeah they are out there, kind of towards Brookshire/Sealy.
For those in Houston regarding Ike…now you know what Rita was like for East Texas.
Ike also hit us up here in the Lakes area, lost power for 5 days, lost two freezers full of food, (or so i told the insurance company AHEM…)
Good luck down there, I say once Galveston is back up and ruinnign have a get together for all members of the Nation who got slapped by this thing…except those in Indiana and Ohio

It amazes me that in over two hundred years some “citizens” still don’t grasp the concept of the United States of America. Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if everybody got to personally choose exactly where their tax dollars were to be spent.
…seeing how well it all works now. Yeah! How horrible if you got to decide that none of your tax money can be used for the war! Terrible if your yax dollars can’t be given to Bear Sterns!
Freedom WOULD be a bad thing to you proto-little totalitarians, wouldn’t it?

True political freedom can only be achieved in an anarchy HH. Reality demands compromise.
You seem to have a propensity for preaching philosophy. Why don’t you try reading some? Most of the great minds in history agree that individuals must support and make sacrifices for the society they live in. It may not be fun. There certainly are corrupt and unscrupulous people taking advantage of their positions of power. Large government are inherently unwieldy and inefficient. Etc., etc.
But…
What are the options for members of a society that wish to achieve great things and not simply sit safe in their caves protecting their personal space? Sometimes “the greatest good for the greatest number” is the only feasible logic. Even if it means that the unwilling minority are dragged along for the ride.
If you have a better way, Good Sir… Let’s hear it!

45 miles due south, about 25 due south of San Augustine.
Have to go to Timpson tonight, my sons first 7th grade football game. Ike played hell on football schedules, we were supposed to play Garrison two weeks ago.

Anarchy is the least of freedoms. Try reading some Hume.
Plato thought that tricking the populace was fine. Hume thought we needed Big Brother. Hegel worshipped the State as the embodiment of the Spirit. What’s your point? Only Rand advocates the freedom necessary for Men.

I know that area also, I worked at Fort Polk in Leesville, La for about 5 or 6 years. So which side of Toledo Bend has the better tasting fish, the Louisiana side or Texas side?

Timpson, ugh…lol. My ex-girlfriend’s brother went to school for Garrison few years back. I went to the football games quite often. Timpson is rough.
I’ve been looking back at some of the ridiculous posts by that raving lunatic HH and that crawfishing sycophant ARL and have just been laughing at their adsurness. I truly enjoyed it when HH called people on here “Prof X cronies”. Like we get together at the Legion of Doom table and Prof X tells us “First we’ll get the taxes from Indiana and Ohio, then the world!!!”
(insert evil laughter here)
