Idiot and His Motorcycle

Looking at the ending all I could think was “hey there little fella, need some training wheels?”

Why does the cop say “he dropped his keys on the ground, I think hes been stopped a few times”.

because the guy did the whole routine that a cop usually tells you to do before the cop said anything.

oh.

I’ve never had that happen when I’ve been pulled over, but now that I think of it, I’m sure I’ve seen it happen on “Cops” a few hundred times.

They only do it if they think you are about to run…like if they catch you after you tried to get away. I know a couple of guys who will simply run from the cops. Unless a helicopter is in the air, it isn’t like the cop can keep up if the rider knows the area well.

I am not condoning that action, but it does happen.[/quote]

i know someone who was doing a wheelie on Rt-1 while some cops were beside him trying to pull him over and after like a minute he just went down and zoomed past them. i wasnt there, i just saw the video.

Years ago, a friend lost his foot in a motorcycle accident. Since then, I’ve encountered several other bikers who have had accidents, and every single one of those accidents were the car driver’s fault.

That being said, I wonder why cops are so hard on bikers. The public needs to be better educated in the proper driving etiquette when encountering motorcyclists. When my wife and I are on the highway, we always keep several car lengths between our car and the motorcycle in front of us. And would you know it, some asshole sees this as an opportunity to change lanes and get between my car and the bike, often getting dangerously close to the bike’s tail.

Some people complain that Harleys are too loud. But that sound often means getting noticed and properly reacted to.

I’ve seen this happen so many times when I’m in my car that it pisses me off. I usually jump in front of the car and slow down so the bike has more room. I have seen them ride on their ass so close that it’s like they want them to fall off.

I generally try to ride “ahead of traffic” on my bike. I would rather get a speeding ticket than end up under someone’s bumper.

Most people in cars act like they are pissed to see someone on a bike. It is like some deep seated envy that the bike can get in and out of traffic easily or go faster.

I’ve had sportcars act like they are trying to race me. It’s a fucking 1000 CBR. You aren’t beating that unless you are on another bike.

Exactly.
I also think that even today, motorcyclists are considered part of some sort of subculture, and that in itself often gets derision from the general public.

Sorry to change the subject of this thread, but there seems to be a couple riders replying on here, so this question is for you guys. I have my motorcycle license, and am saving up to get a cbr 600.

But it seems everyone I talk to, especially my parents keep saying how dangerous it is, and that I am basically killing myself by getting on a bike.

To those of you that ride, do you feel that overall it is safe to ride as long as you ride responsibly? Have you had more close calls and ride less bc of it? I know everyone takes risks and driving a bike is one of them, but all I hear is “you’re gonna get killed if you get a bike!” I do realize I can’t control other cars, and need to be more alert, but come on, I think motorcyclists get a bad rep just bc of some crazy out of control riders doing stunts and driving recklessly.

Again, sorry to hijack this thread.

I guess cops figure anyone stupid enough to ride a motorcycle (driving with so many retards on the roads is bad enough in a car) deserves a ticket, when applicable.

Motorcycles should only be used in isolated areas, like deserts or Montana.

As long as its anywhere but Jersey.

Had a cousin (dead now) who was in a biker gang. I think he must have broken every bone in his body on that thing.
