A lot of that is genetic. I work in a high poverty high crime area of a mostly black population - the physiques I see on a diet of chips and alcohol never ceases to amaze me. Quite jealous.
just a quick question or twoā¦you say Tilapia, and since english isnt my first language i went to google to see what the name in my country, and there were 2 articles about how Tilapia causes more inflammation then ppl think. so how does that fit into the whole story (ofcourse if thats actually right)?
second one how do you treat caffeine into this mix. its both an antioxidant but it also raises cortisol
i also found about eggs this:
Arachadonic acid is a product of Omega 6 fatty acids. Too much arachadonic acid and we promote inflammation and we do not allow the proper synthesis of omega 3. All chicken products will have high levels of arachadonic acid.
Egg whites are very low fat but here is why we should avoid them.
-
Egg whites are ridiculously high in the amino Acid Methionine. Rice has 14 times less of this amino acid and beans 7 time less. When one consumes Methionine in a large quantity (like that found in egg whites), it is broken down into sulfuric compounds. these sulfuric compounds are buffered by the calcium of the bones. the result, over time, is osteoporosis and kidney stones.
-
Methionine is metabolized into homocysteine. This substance is a risk factor associated with heart attacks, strokes, peripheral vascular disease, venous thrombosis, dementia, Alzheimerās disease, and depression.
-
Cancer cell metabolism is dependent upon methionine being present in the diet; whereas normal cells can grow on a methionine-free diet feeding off other sulfur-containing amino acids.
It depends on what the fish was fed. Which is why with any fish itās best to go with wild and not farmed fish.I personally do not eat tilapia very often so I confess about not researching it a lot. It is a very popular bodybuilding food though. Most of the fish i personally eat is sole.
Yes which is why I avoid meat. i try to have the lowest amount of arachidonic acid as possible. But a small amount is important. Omega 6 fatty acids ARE essential fatty acids too. It is the ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6 that is important, which is why I supplement with a double dose of FLAMEOUT (omega 3 fatty acid) every day., so that my ratio stays positive. I avoid meat because it has too much of it. An egg has around 590mg of omega-6 while a portion of steak will have roughly 5000mg
Hi coach, do you have a release date for your new book? Also, is there anything you can do for a brachialis tear that does not involve surgery? I did it three years ago doing weighted pull-ups. There are very few exercises I can do anymore. Iām limited to deadlifts, high pulls, and close grip bench presses.
When you say avoid dairy products, does that include whey isolate protein or is it just stuff like milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, ect
Whey and casein powder is fine in moderate doses. I personally only consume protein supplements (PLAZMA, MAG-10) peri-workout.
Greek yogurt might be fine but I recommend avoiding the rest as much as possible. You wont die if you have a portion here and there but I personally cut it all out
October for the book
I donāt answer injury related questions, sorry.
so 250g of cottage chessee daily in the evening isnt that good?
Cheese is the one thing that I recently decided to cut off completely⦠and it was a huge part of my diet
Coach, are you monitoring your heavy metals? I know how this is going to sound but I donāt give a shit:
Iāve heard both Tony Robbins and Howard Stern say theyād been having health problems including short term memory loss and both had separate doctors tell them to stop eating so much fish. The problem, the doctors said, was that each manās mercury levels were way too high and causing the problems. Robbins has switched to land based proteins and Stern has gone vegetarian.
Iāve been aware of that since Charles (Poliquin) introduced me to the concept. Just like the acid/base and low grade systemic inflammation itās something that I willingly (and stupidly) disregarder for years. That was a mistake.
Nowadays I eat pretty much like a vegan would, but I have white fish. Eggs in small amounts can be fine, but I honestly moved away since I donāt like eggs anyway.
Do you eat shrimp?
Any reason to be concerned about the cholesterol content?
tweet
Yes I eat shrimps a few times a week. Cholesterol can be a good thing since it is the raw material from which testosterone is fabricated. I use a lot of fish oil to make sure that my good to bad cholesterol ratio is positive.
What do you consider a lot CT? (Weird question) how do you avoid the fish burps
I take 2 doses of FLAMEOUT per day.
Never had fish burps
what about ground flax seed? according to several websites 100g of flax seeds contain around 22g of omega-3
Not a great option.
There are two āmoneyā fatty acids in the omega-3 group. EPA and DHA.
EPA is the fatty acid that plays the biggest role in reducing low grade systemic inflammation because it has an impact on countering the pro-inflammatory arachidonic acid.
DHA is important for the development and maintenance of the nervous system/brain
Both play a role in improving insulin sensitivity.
FLAX SEED OIL DOESNāT CONTAIN A SINGIFICANT AMOUNT OF EITHER EPA OR DHA. It provides another omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid which needs to be convereted to EPA , and it CANNOT CONVERT TO DHA.
So Flax seed oil is a inferior source of omega-3 fatty acids. The benefit is that when eating flax seeds you are also getting a lot of fiber, but you are also eating more calories.
For example your 100g of flax seeds provides 534 calories, 42g of fat, 27g of fiber (which is good) an d 18g of protein (also good). Itās just the 42g of fat that I find to be high to get 22g of omega-3 fatty acids, of which none of is of the 2 most important ones. Even if it is a āgoodā fat it is still a fat and can be stored as fat.
wow ct vegan (+ white fish) never thought the day would come
if you could start over things would you have approached diet this way?
i mean to think of doing all that heavy weightlifting over the years as a veganā¦more gains?
