Ideal Supplements for Bulking

Hello I am continuing my bulking phase and am wondering what would be the best combo for bulking. I am currently continuing WS4SB, keeping to me diet of of about 5000-5300 calories a day. If it matters I am currently about 21, 6’1, 195-197lbs, and around 10% body fat.

My goals are to get as big and strong as I can. If I add some fat around the edges so be it, I am a skinny bastard after all! (in my eyes anyways).

Right now I have in my little shopping cart is Grow! WHEY, Surge Recovery, Creatine, Metabolic Drive Complete, L-Leucine, and also added Alpha Male. Now does that look pretty for my goals or is there something I could add or something I could take out to cut down on costs?

I also take a multivitamin and a quality fish oil for good health and joints. Well Thanks for reading and if there are any questions that may need answering I would be more than happy to answer them asap. Thanks for any help that is provided.

looks good bro…u could pick up some casein protein for before bed,or just drink a couple glasses of skim milk before u hit the sack

Why skim?

Skim milk has more carbs but less fat
Full milk has less carbs but more fat

Choose the type of milk that agrees with your type of diet and stuff.

Although you are consuming a fair bit of calories, food trumps supplements every time for bulking.

I agree that food trumps supplements any day which is why I worked so hard to figure out what works for my body, how much too eat, what to eat etc. I understand that supplements are just that supplements to a good diet which I believe I have finally gotten right. So I am just looking for something that can give me an edge and hopefully make gains/my goals easier.

As a side note I noticed that I messed up my thread title… it should be “Ideal Supplements for Bulking” not “Idea supplements for bulking”.

Metabolic Drive
Leucine
Surge Recovery
ZMA
creatine

and 11-T if you want to go that route

You’re 21, so you can drop the Alpha Male. You won’t see any major benefits from it at this age.

Double dose the Surge Recovery. (One full serving pre- and during-workout. One full serving after.)

If you had to still cut costs, you could remove the Grow! Whey. Shakes with Metabolic Drive Complete should be your #2 daily beverage, after water.

EDIT: Maybe Some Spike Double Shots. They work well enough for Dave Tate.

Well right now I have

Metabolic Drive X2
Surge Recovery X2
L-Leucine
Creatine
Grow! Whey

I took the Alpha Male out because of your advice. The 11-T is a bit more than I would like to pay since I could get 3-5 other supplements for just that one. Now I have never tried 11-T although I have heard great things about it. But with that and my other supplements I am at $339 or so and $214 without it. Do you think it would really be worth dropping that extra cash for that or buy some more Surge, Metabolic Drive etc.

Thanks for the help thus far

If you are bulking (therefore the fat loss properties are of less importance) and at a point in your training where you ought to be able to get good gains without anything providing an unusual extra kick, and money is short then skip the 11-T.

What would you recommend then as a substitute to it? I also do not believe that I am really ready for something like that because I had to take a few months off from serious training (work issuse). So yes is there anything else I should add? Maybe something new or some more doubling up etc. I dont believe I need ZMA I get 8+ hours sleep and last time I used it I had some pretty messed up nightmares it was weird as hell.

You don’t need a substitute to it if your training is at the point described.

As said above, food is the most important, and then after that double-usage (pre and post) Surge will be a major help. Or if you handle high carbs well, combining Surge Workout Fuel with Surge Recovery for pre-workout and then using Surge Recovery with one scoop of the Surge Workout Fuel postworkout is outstanding. But if money is short the double Surge Recovery protocol is fine.

Your above plan was good already – I agree with the recommendation that you don’t need the Alpha Male.

If I were going to add one item that is not particularly costly, then if you are going to be training balls to the wall, while Surge Workout Fuel would help more, the Rhodiola Rosea would be a significant help in its own right. Not so much apparent during the workout, but in being able to maintain workload over time. If adding two supplements, I’d add the Beta-7 for the same reason, though in this case the difference will be apparent in workouts.

I would love to do the double dose of Surge but that would only last me about a month which blows pretty hard and I have to be a little tight with my money for the time being. So I think I will get 1 more Surge however. Now for another question out of the two (Beta-7 and Rhodiola Rosea) which would be the best for my goals or should I also scrap both of those and get 2 Surge? Thank you, you have been a great help!

I suppose it depends on where you perceive the greater use:

In being less stressed 24/7 from the demands of lifting and other stressors?

Or in getting some more reps in later sets or being able to do a few more sets before serious performance fall-off.

If the first the Rhodiola, if the second the Beta-7.

Which on average is a better long-term enhancer of gains I do not know. In the shorter term you’d notice the Beta-7’s effect on performance more – unless perhaps you are at the edge of overtraining in which case the Rhodiola Rosea might be more obvious in terms of perhaps your now no longer feeling edgy.
