I’m all for farmers and ranchers protecting their property, but actively going out of your way to hunt and kill wolves just makes you giant asshole.
Why?
because it’s completely unprovoked and there is no reason to go out in the wild and kill something minding its own business. What’s the point? because they “might” venture into town and cause problems, that’s ridiculously stupid logic.

If they’re on your ranch threatening livestock then sure, shoot em up.

Which brings me to another thought: if wolves are so necessary and desired why not release them into downtown Detroit? Or Barstow?

Wolves are racist, they only eat white people.
That’s not racist. That’s having a discriminating palate.
If I only ate black people, no way they would call it that.
Only as in… instead of…

Those implied lines.

Did anyone actually watch the video a couple pages back, one pack-5 wolves were on a killing livestock spree. Acording to the vid there were 30 other wolves in the area, that weren’t killing livestock. The final straw, and reason for the vid was the pet mule being killed, but in this case atleast, those 5 wolves should be put down. The other 30 hadn’t devloped a livesock blood thirst, and should live.

Point being, this should be handled on a case by case basis, by the people who are actually at ground zero, and know whats going on, and if in this case some wolves do need to go, and some should stay. Its not up to some liberal save the world nut, to get worked up about somthing he knows nothing about. Its like anything else I guess people need to worry more about themselves, and not wory so much about people, and things they don’t understand.

As a kid I lost a pet dog to cyotes, and on my best friends sheep farm, it’s a full time job protecting livestock from wolves / cyotes that the goverment protects. Wait till one of these farmers goes to jail for shooting a wolf. There will be a trial, and he’ll have to prove the dead wolf in question, is the one that killed his livstock, Dr’s probably have to cut the wolf open, like an episode of CSI, but this is what the world comming to. A farmer will go to jail for protecting livestock, sounds over the top, but I wonder

I like Varq’s comic, like 100% seriously.

As far as the “artificial reintroduction” it is no different than reintroducing the bald eagle, bison, or any other number of species that were pushed to the brink of extinction due to man’s influence and now they are trying to restore what was lost.

I gave valid reasons for why things are the way they are back on page 2 I believe. It was also confirmed some of what I said in your subsequent posts.

If wolves are no longer an endangered species, they can be treated similarly to any other predator. Place a hunting season, and allow farmers to defend their property. There, I just fixed it.

Why aren’t we complaining about grizzly bears, mountain lions, black bears, or any other dangerous species? Hell, we have black bear wonder through our camps all the time. We’ve got pics of one at my friend’s cabin walking through the fire pit area on several occassions. They belong there and have been a part of the ecosystem for far longer than people have been living in those regions. The imbalance is due to us, not them.

I totally agree it should be a case by case basis and that was my point, not to indiscriminately shoot every wolf you see. I don’t know about there but in Michigan a farmer is legally allowed to shoot wolves that threaten and harm your livestock.

Not in Canada, Bob Suzuki’s got every thing locked down, probably better to shoot a person. Can you imagine a farmer shooting a beautiful wolf, and some nut hugger somehow getting it on video, I’m telling you right now they’d string him up. O’l Bob would be at his front door with a 1000 protester’s screaming for blood. Remember where a city is today, there used to be woods, and probably wolves-you’ve killed them all off–we’re still letting most live.

I think you have Bob Izumi and David Suzuki mixed up.

I have never heard of Bob Suzuki. Are you sure you don’t mean David Suzuki?

I’m sorry, pal, but this is some serious stupidity here. Are you so goddamn fucking dense that you think a pack of wolves is comparable to bald eagles or bison? Really?

Think, for crying out loud. Fucking think. Some of you people are dumber than a sack of rocks riding on the wheel well of the short bus. Good grief, I wonder how the likes of you even manage to tie your shoes and amble through your day unscathed much less properly execute a deadlift, squat or bench press.

Fucking dumbass city mouse. Put down your remote control and explore your world the old fashioned way.

They were pushed to extinction like the smallpox virus was pushed to extinction. And for basically the same reason.

Tell us where you live, QuasiTechnicallyDiscombobulated, and we’ll see if we can deliver your very own wolf pack to your neighborhood so we can try and “restore what’s lost” (and I’m not talking about your intellectual acumen).
I like how your response to what I said is immediate aggression. Did I say they were the same animal? Nope. I said they are being re-introduced in an effort to restore that which was destroyed by people, just like bison for their horns and thick fur and the bald eagle - probably due to loss of habitat, but I don’t 100% know.

Just because you don’t like a particular animal does not justify it for eradication. And just because you don’t like what I posted does not mean that I’m lacking in intelligence. Both are humorous and sad. I expected more from you push.

Also, I was born in South Dakota, and currently live in Southwestern PA, feel free to introduce some wolves. Would probably help the Coyote population and give me another animal to hunt. Though I believe they think the coyotes here have cross-bred with wolves in Canada and are now some type of larger hybrid, who knows.

I like how you believe everyone that has a differing opinion is a city slicker. Insert foot in mouth. Or in this case, just remove your hands from the keyboard and go take your rage out on some iron. I honestly don’t watch much TV, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors, when I’m not in Japan. I’ve hunted since I was 12, and fished since age 6. My vacation is built around hunting seasons. Any more disqualifying statements you’d like to make that are without base and make you look even more foolish? Tryharder.
