I had an unsettling “shift” in my back on the ascent of the 2nd rep. No pain, not really a pop, but something that absolutely wasn’t right. It felt like a shift into hyperextension at the mid back. So, I obviously cut my sets short and attempted to figure out the problem. Through much poking and prodding, I couldn’t pinpoint any specific problem spot.

Never did develop any pain from the incident. Discomfort, but no pain. I thought it may be QL or psoas, but no trigger points that I can find. It almost feels more like a rib issue. No problems in flexion or rotation. A little discomfort in hyperextension of the back. Very odd.

Remarkably, a very good bench session. I could get into a my normal, arched, position with no issues. I can still feel a little something, but my workout was unhindered. Feeling about 95% right now, but gonna play deadlifts by ear on Thursday.
