Well the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance has made this brilliant comparison
The lead author of the study, Rebecca M. Puhl of Yale’s Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, states that it was based on a review of all research on youth weight bias over the past 40 years. “The quality of life for kids who are obese is comparable to the quality of life of kids who have cancer,” Puhl said, citing one study. “These kids are facing stigma from everywhere they look in society, whether it’s media, school or at home.” “Perhaps the most surprising source of weight stigma toward today’s youth is parents,” the study says.

Being called a chubby bastard was what made me stop stuffing my pre-pubescent face as a kid.
And if I ever have kids, and they start putting on some fat, you better believe words like “lardass, fatso, chub-chubs, shamu” etc. will be thrown around.
In all seriousness, the whining is more annoying than the ever-encroaching blubbery mass from the denim clad land whale on the bus. Feel free to be fat, but shut your trap if you intend to whine about being fat.
Shamu just needs to stop stuffing its damn face full of junk. There are real people, with real diseases. Obesity is not one of them. Its a lifestyle choice. Not a disease (in 99.9% of cases).
at first it sounded like the dihydrogen monoxide people.
but, these folks are serious.
I like in the physical fitness section they say that fat people should strive for “optimal physical fitness” in accordance with their goals. Isn’t that contradictory. Optimal physical fitness would be to be able to run as fast as possible, or as far as possible, and would that mean having very little extra “weight” to carry around (I can run farther at 15% BF then at 25%). so they’re own advocation is that fat people should eat right and exercise, but still be fat. If you are eating right and exercising, you won’t be fat.
This organization is making money on fat people staying fat. If no one was fat, they wouldn’t have anything for which to “advocate.” they don’t want people to be healthy, they want them to be fat. I don’t think you can be very fat, and healthy. Too many risks associated with that.
I cant beilive theyre comparing Cancer Victims to fat fucks. You can change and prevent your eatting habits to prevent form being fat. You cant do that with Cancer or another Terminal illness like Retardation or Mental Illness such as Homosexuality.
