40 min swim and cold plunge. Then a 60min powerwalk after dark when its cooler. This damn heat is killing me over here lol. Anyho, legs tomorrow.
Thanks. I did a few bench / deadlift meets and a couple of over 40s strongman events a few years back. But honestly ive no interest in competition anymore, competitions only factor 2 things, age and weight, but they do factor in poor, leverages, injuires or illnesses (am a stroke saviour and have 3 herniated discs), plus the drug use that goes on in these contests is ridiculous, even in small local shows. Huh, even in drug tested shows.
These days i just try to improve on key lifts and enjoy the process.
Several years ago i did nothing but deadlift and either benched or overhead pressed everyday for about an 18 month period, i think of it as simply becoming more skilled at those specific lifts and it carried over into everything else.
You are lifting strong regardless of your health conditions. I am envious of anyone that has done a strongman competition, they look like a lot of fun. If I get my strength back I would like to do one.
Yes mate, we cant live in fear or by “what if’s”, i did that for a few years after my stroke and its no way to live a life that has an inevitable end. So we do it our way and let the chips fall where they may!!
I have to admit, i did enjoy the strongman contests, did it more for the craic than anything. Id say indeed when you get your strength back up (and that’ll happen sooner than you think) give it a go mate

Still cant get that second rep on the HBDL with 277kg, id rather add more weight to the bar but i cant get anymore weight on the damn thing. Think ill have to get some 25kg thin calibrated plates. I could just lighten the load a little…but thats not my style lol.

Worlds gone mad mate. I live in down in Oz now and the stuff they teach kids now regarding gender bias is ridiculous. I am all for people doing what they want or being who they are but do we need to discuss with 10 yr olds.

Seen a thing on the news the other day, a veteran in the UK was arrested at his home by 4 cops for “causing anxiety” with a FB post. Dare i say it, but its going take some hard times for these entiled, know it all brats to realise just how good they have it.

Yeah that toxic gender ideology is utterly insane, its gonna lead to serious mental health issues in kids (already is in many cases), weve ministers, senators, university “experts” etc who refuse to answer the simple question of “what is a woman”, they of course know fine well but wont answer it because they’re are afraid of the backlash on social media from the woke mob, not to mention their toxic ideological falls apart very fast when you define what a woman is.
