Exactly.
IIRC, Obama has never pushed through a piece of partisan legislation. It has been right down the party lines for the last 4 years or it wasn’t done. That’s not the way to fix things.

He has not been big on compromise, no. But the the republicans returned in kind and it became a clusterfuck…

That’s understandable given what you’ve seen growing up. The United Sates is a set of principles as proclaimed at our founding and preserved in our seminal documents. That USA, the USA has disappeared from the face of the earth and it’s been a long time coming. Those principles that catapulted us from some struggling colonies to the world’s most prosperous, most respected, most envied, feared and immigrated superpower are dead. You are dancing on their grave. I promise you in the name of my Lord that I am NOT disgruntled, angry and depressed if that’s what you think. Nor am I disgusted or outraged. Left to myself I’m sure I’d be dancing with you. On the contrary. My citizenship is not of this country or even this world. My peace, security and joy are in the arms of the most high God whose almighty invincible providence is being played out before my eyes. He is God. And His record remains undefeated. My grief is for you. I will continue praying for the president, his family and the nation. All of whom I love. He is a symptom, not the disease.
This will be my last post in this thread which is yours after all. If you or anyone else celebrating here care to have a conversation of substance I am ever ready and you know where to find me. I MIGHT take something from here to a different thread if I think it warrants it, but I will not bother you here any more.
As a Christian myself, I have no shame in doing what David did in 2nd Samuel.
Those principals you listed are not dead. On the contrary. We’re constantly exercising our rights with our voices, our votes, our will, and our ways. America was not built on a rigid rail, but rather a flowing fabric - much like the linen of our flag! It bends, it certainly waves in the direction the wind dictates, and best of all, it’s resilient!

No.
Freedom is self-determination, not co-determination.
Since everything is now “voted on” The Republic is dead, America, as an idea, is no more.
I do, however ride a longboard. It’s big, got soft wheels and wide trucks, and feels like surfing. Give me a long, smooth, gradual incline, and I’m in soul-surfing heaven!

Awesome.
One of these days, you should make an avatar of that supa dwarf on a skateboard. That’d be funny!

Dear Tiribulus,
Isn’t it weird that I feel like giving you a hug? I just find you so sweet with all that fear, grief and paranoia, ehehehe
In case anyone wonders, that is from Smetana, Die Moldau.
You hear the river Moldau start out as a wild spring, maturing into a wide majestic river until finally dissolving into the Elbe, carried away to the sea.
