Are you kidding me? So, you think my house may be the scene of a crime now? Nothing would surprise me at this point.

Not the scene of a crime. Think of the space between the walls as an extension of your refrigerator, except without the refrigeration. Hence the stench.

By the way, did you ever find out how he got in to begin with?[/quote]

I do have a theory but I may never know. A couple of days ago, I trimmed down a bush outside by the dryer vent. I then covered the drier vent with chicken wire (I think). Honestly, it was a makeshift job and I just did the best I could.

Got to thinking about it after you asked me that and I’m pretty sure that’s the last time I saw or heard him inside. He very well could’ve been storing his victims in between the walls for later consumption. I just know that until I figure out what I’m going to do tomorrow, I am glad that I stocked up on air freshener last week.

Well, option number three might be to remove said chicken wire see if Ernie returns to claim his dinner – of course that means you could sleep better as well knowing that the little devil is safe. Hopefully he will remove or devoure said meal, then you could replace the chicken wire?

Just a thought.

Or you could have Renton and Zap over for freeze drying or draining of balls…

Seems you have a few choices ;D

You are a woman of few words but the ones you do come up with have me rolling! lol

An update since yesterday: There is no dead ermine in the house. I asked my father to survey the situation and he played a ā€œjokeā€ with a smelt that only he finds funny. We are not speaking right now.

I also got a PM from a poster here who is from New Brunswick and has caught ermine before. He doubted highly that Ernie friends were in the walls. Ermine like to kill and then immediately eat their victims. He also said that chicken wire wouldn’t work worth a damn and that they can get into spaces smaller than a dime. I was told they are extremely clever and next to impossible to catch and that I should just keep the trap out with very fresh meat and hope for the best. Oh, and I’ve heard moth balls twice now too. What a lovely scent…smelt and moth balls…not going over well with the compulsive cleaner:)

We’ve had some ice issues here the last couple of days and the power went out for around 4 hours. They sent the kids home on the school bus - again! I need some peace and quiet and I need it soon. Never mind giving Ernie any sedatives, I’m going to take them myself.

Totally off the topic here but do any of you guys or gals know who the figure competitor at the top of the screen is? One of the best bodies I’ve ever seen.

I don’t have the heart to tell the girl underneath her that that’s really a belt though.

Now there’s a challenge I’ll take you up on. Bushy may have his katana, I’ll stick with 26" of bamboo. Bring it on girl!

Ernie lives!! Ernie lives!!

Methinks Ernie is perhaps just being a bit devious, using ā€œstrategery,ā€ as our president would say, and is covertly using this opportunity in MsM’s house to snap some quality pictures. He’s very adept with technology, ya’ know! And methings SOMEONE may have paid him handsomely in order to do so. Hmmmmmm . . .

Do tell.

You want to play, you have to pay.

Don’t hate the player.

Hate the game.

Well, MsM Some how I think she doesn’t really care.

As for Ernie – glad it is not him or his dinner in your walls…cause it could have been really messy to clean up after Zap and Renton…

I’m glad that she doesn’t care. I don’t care. In fact I wish she didn’t care so much that she skipped it altogether.

As far as cleaning up after me & Zap - oooh - nasty!

Where are you guys headed with this, hmmmm?

Glad to hear it’s not anything dead, and tell your dad that it was quite funny (when you start speaking to him again).

So uh, I took an Aspire 36 and had to rub like 4 out. Talk about cleaning up.

I cannot tell him that rsg. That would only encourage such behavior. He has bought me the traditional I’m sorry coffee and it’s done. Well, for the most part. He still hasn’t seen what I’ve done to his shoes yet.

Not to get too excited here or anything but I’m pretty sure I heard the ermine back inside today. Not positive but pretty sure. If it is him though, he’s being fairly low-key so far.

And that would be some kind of personal PR for you now, would it, football? lol
