I spend the better part of year trying to get my DL back over 400 and he’s here sayin’ ā€œYeah, I don’t train it much cause reasonsā€ and proceeds to pull multiple triples with 405.

I should talk about new meathead I met.

He set up in the power rack I was in the shitty rack .
we gave a brief hello but when I walked out 365- he stood and waited behind me- which I appreciated. and thought was cool- he wanted to make sure I was safe.
I thought that was cool

when I was re-racking- he had walked away after the first rep and
was like - ā€˜Hey I wanted to see if you had it- your good So I kept on walking’

turns out he is new to my town and my shitty commercial gym
is 54 played D1 football in college is a bigger dude easily 260 and 6’3

We talked about college athletics being older etc- it was a nice chat.
we touched on how 5’s where the best rep range for power that triples where
great for a short period and that being old- training the body once per week was enough.

He then told me he was super hung over and didn’t know what he could do - then busted to squat 405 - mostly to parallel for 5
(he is real tall and broken)
He has at least one rebuilt pec and shoulder- and at least two knee ā€˜scopes’

a good ally in my shitbox gym

rack pulls suck.
I used straps at 405 I should have done snatch width and less weight.
db rows- I used to be able to do these without straps.
the chest supprted row is broken at the gym sucks

wrapped a film set outdoors- in the steamy muggy ny streets
nothing beats dragging cable thru mud and puddles of questionable liquid
(other then packing 20 53’ trailers at 4 am )
