I Get the Hungriest at Night!

It’s driving me crazy, trying to stick to a strict diet, 6 meals a deal, balanced with protein, high-complex carbs and fat, with no carbs except veggies after 6 PM and of course my nightly MD protein shake. But man I get so hungry at night, just gotta eat, especially carbs…ugh, I have sprouted grain bread (Ezekial) and brown rice cakes. Not sure what to do, don’t want to starve myself…any suggestions? Was thinking no fat cottage cheese…egg whites

Have some psyllium husk with that last meal. It will give it a lot more volume will stay with you for longer. I have bad night time cravings too, and that works miracles for me!

I’m the same dude… I just had almond coffee cake, milk, and a peanut butter sandwich lol.

If you have night-time eating syndrome, might want to look into that further, as I believe there is a psychological and hormonal aspect to it.

More likely though, if you just have regular cravings, x2 on the psyllium or other fiber source with your last meal. Otherwise you could take a sleep aid and hope that you don’t wake up, thus no cravings.

damnn, i can feel your pain man, it may be too drastic but you could always have a gallon of cold water in the fridge (when it’s cold it specilly helps to calm down anciety).

Or you could have a mini protein shake.

No no no, if anything get the fatty cottage cheese. The no fat Cottage cheese have added lactose in them.

Regular cottage cheese has like 3 - 4 grams of sugar
Low fat/No fat cottage cheese is like 7 - 11

btw: I always have CC at night!

Don’t be afraid of night time dietary fats,
I’d be more afraid of carbs before bed.

OR if you have enough money, buy a casein blend protein powder and use that.

No offense but work on your reading comprehension. He already mentioned he uses Metabolic Drive.

I usually keep fats in at night for this exact reason. Cottage cheese +natty peanut butter is a godsend for a prebed meal with those of us who have serious cravings. The fat makes everything more filling and digests slower…not to mention the casein in CC.

No offense chimera, but, I had no idea what MD stood for, do you think I would automatically interprete it as Metabolic Drive?

What the fuck is with all these people pointing out the most random ass shit on this forum?

It’s not random, it’s relevant to his question.

Also, let’s not get into an internet argument. Leave it at that?

This used to happen to me until I learned to eat more during the day.

It’s simple, but it makes a world of difference, and it keeps you from gorging on stuff you may not want to eat before bed.

Get the regular cottage cheese…and some crunchy peanut butter. LAways works for me at about 10p or 11p ALso try some carbonated water…makes you feel full. Phsylium Husk or some hoodia cant hurt either.

Adjust or move one of your six meals so it’s at night, and just do the eating right.

I feel the same. I eat tons of shit at night some times,

I can’t keep any food on my dressor near near my bed b/c I will snack on it throughout the night while I’m sleeping. Sleep eating I guess.

I am horrible with this as well, but I try to just stay away from carbs. I would eat cottage cheese but the shit makes me want to puke, so instead I go for Pepper or monterrey jack cheese, peanut butter, and maybe a couple of crackers. Normally under 15g of carbs but protein and fats are there.

Are you you hungry or do you get bad cravings? I am pretty good at ignoring cravings but, when they would get bad I would mix a TBS of cinnamon in water or drink some apple cider vinegar dilluted in water. It would taste pretty bad but the cravings were gone.

If you are hungry than you just have to eat more during the day, even on a strict diet you should not feel like you are starving yourself.

Depending on your goals you could try some MD with coconut oil and a nut butter…maybe throw in some ground flax for fiber.

Protein, Fat, fiber, and low carbs = good bedtime snack

If you don’t like the idea of eating fat…watch the movie Fathead sometime. Shows how the government has made america fat by recommending(and sometimes even demanding) low fat diets.

The problem is your not eating any fat before bed, which is what cures hurger longer. Obviously your worried about adding fat but you should be more worried about losing muscle.
