Also I…love my kettlebelle?
That’s an absolutely monstrous time, my man.
do you have to count the time spent afterwards sitting next to belle panting like a dog and staring into space?
Are you even human?
It’s doable. 14 mins is 35 swings EMOM for that 14 mins. I wanna shoot for that. I dunno if I’d be able to do it with the traditional set scheme though.
Nope, that’s your R&R. Well earned, too.
Putting it that way, it sounds very slightly doable
hard no for me
This and the “I love my kettlebell” got me. Good stuff man. After hearing how much weight @flappinit Lost I’m super tempted. I bought a 45 pounder last rear to try it but never did.
Hah- Once again, your aversion to the 50 rep sets is not because you can’t do it, it’s because you can’t do it right now. The grip comes fast - it’s just pure mental. I think the conditioning aspect is probably the same no matter what rep scheme you do, but Dan John likes stuff that puts hair on your chest, and 50 rep sets do that.
Considering you’re a teenage girl, the hair on your chest analogy might not sound enticing, but the fact remains that if you just rest-paused those sets at first like I did my first time through, you’d eventually be able to do all the reps. I’m certain of it. Especially if you resisted the urge to run the Iditarod in between every set.
Can you imagine swinging a KB half your weight though.
I 100% agree, but honestly, I can’t be bothered. I’m honestly too lazy to put in the mental energy towards it.
One of my “bucket list” workouts is to do a 500 swings workout (definitely not using the rep scheme) with the 45lb kb
I got to 250 once, but wussed out
Girls do it with a lighter KB, per DJ. Still unfortunately a significant percentage, haha.
Out of all the crazy shit I’ve seen you do in workouts I surprised this isn’t your warm up.
I did it with 25lbs, which is a little more than 25% bodyweight. The swings got really easy by the end and are still surprisingly easy despite not consistently swinging
My biggest talent is looking impressive on paper…
I was gonna say she did 250 burpees on a rest day, so I don’t see what the fuss is about.
Keep in mind you only see the workouts I complete, not the “original” that had twice as many rounds/reps that I didn’t complete bc it felt “too hard” 2minutes in
Also, as a tiny, weak person, burpees and volume work are inherently easier. I strive to get strong enough such that hard programs actually crush me
Have you tried not being so tiny?
No. But we know 12,000 baby spinach leaves won’t turn you into popeye now.
Disclaimer* I totally meant this as a joke Anna. You put in a lot of work and I know there are other forces at play. Just couldn’t resist myself. It is the internet after all.
