I Feel Like I'm Cheating

Oh, book recommendations! I would add: The happiness trap by Russ Harris.

I personally don’t see it as cheating if you’re within natural physiological levels.

Steroids are used to elevate way above and beyond natural, which is not what you’re doing.

As a matter of fact, following the same logic that considers steroids cheating, I would suggest creatine, betaine anhydrous, high doses of caffeine et cetera are all more in line with cheating than medically correcting a hormone deficiency if removing outside influence on performance is the criteria. So if your buddies are using pre-workout formulas, creatine or really any OTC supplement to boost performance they’re cheating their own natural state.

Your buddies aren’t ready for the paradigm shift. They’ve seen you a certain way and put you in a specific box for as long as they’ve known you. The dynamic is shifting now and it feels funny.

Your girlfriend likely feels threatened for similar reasons, and sees you elevating above her own personal view of worth in the dating pool. I would bet money.

Give them time to adjust by continuing to be you and if they can’t then drop baggage and find confident people to be around. I can’t imagine a world where friends and a partner wouldn’t want or encourage a better me.

Live your life for you. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You’re not competing in a drug-tested sport so there is no cheating and if you were deficient in T for all those years, you took steps to improve the quality of your life. That’s a great thing.

Honestly, friend, it’s no one’s business if you’re taking TRT. You’re going to the gym, and you’re doing the work. You’re following a legal, doctor prescribed, and doctor monitored protocol to correct a medical condition. That’s your business and no one else’s.

How is making yourself feel normal and improve your health cheating? If you didnt need it, that would be one thing. I am surprised though, that your dr. is letting you stay in the 900 range. Your mrs should like the fact your not irritable and keeping your game up in the sack.
Dont let it bother you. Youre not taking huge amounts or adding other aas to it. Your just keeping you body looking and feeling like every other dude out here.

Cheating? You are just catching up to what you could have been with “normal “ testosterone levels. I’m in exactly the same boat as you. But I’m 66 years old and just started trt last year. Spent my whole life always being a bit soft despite working out and running daily. Doctors tested me for everything EXCEPT low T as a kid, wasn’t a consideration then.
After all these years, I’m seeing great results, dropping fat, adding muscle. People commenting on my build and telling me I look great. I’m not cheating, I’m just being who I should have been for the last 40 years.
Being on equal hormonal ground isn’t cheating!

First off it’s none of their business what prescribed medications you need to put into your body for optimal health. Do they need to know if you’re taking blood pressure medications?

Regarding cheating, this implies that there is a winner and a looser to your action. Who exactly is the looser for you taking a medically necessary medication? Heck, by that definition, anyone who takes blood pressure medication is cheating because it’s giving them a longevity advantage over the idiots that ignore their blood pressure!

I’ve been on medically prescribed TRT for over 12 years and it has made an enormous difference in the way I look and feel. I’d probably be divorced by now if I hadn’t started taking this medication. My wife tells me I’m much nicer to be around. Is that cheating???

Does it really take 5 people to say the same thing that has already been said - a month late?
