By far the best advise was posted by Boston Barrister. Take his/her advise and talk to the young lady first, than proceed accordingly. Keep in mind this is a very serious situation, proceed cautiously!

Yea, I suppose a real man would come forward with what he knew, no matter what the repercussions (sp) may be, however, but I’m perfectly happy with my life as is. Before this I had nothing to worry about, the last thing I need is some rapist coming after me for ratting him out. I didn’t ask to see what I saw, it’s her concern not mine. It’ll take awhile to forget this and move on, but I think my life will be better for it.

If its any consolation to all of you, your advice did mean something to me, so I called one of my old friend’s who lives out of town and doesnt’ know anyone associated with this predicament. I told him the story and he made several good points. For one, dirty cops are all over the place, and in a town where soemthing like this will be a big deal, they will have no problem trying to pin this thing on me so everyone goes to sleep happy. This girl was probably drugged or drunk and she could esasily confuse me with the rapists because I look familiar, and suddenly I’m screwed for trying to help someone out. Also, he made a good point that I’m not even sure of what I saw, for all I know it could be a totally different girl. Why should I go to jail for something I didn’t do? And for trying to help out. Maybe if the justice system wasn’t so screwed up…
