To narrow your middle, the best thing you can do is to loss fat overall, and not do to much core work. You can also make your waist appear narrower by building your quads, glutes, and delts to created broader shoulders and hips.

Chad Waterbury did a pretty good article about red carpet bodies or some such a month or two ago, you might want to hunt that down. You’re pretty lean already, so you’d probably be best served by lifting heavy and eating a relatively high protein diet instead of worrying about losing more fat.

Honestly, a lot of people see good results by working with a strength based program to start off with, then progressing to a body part split once they’ve built up a bit of work capacity. You might want to check the stickies in the beginners forum, theres lots of good advice there. Looking good, keep up with it and you’ll get the body you want.

I am 22, don’t know if that is man enough for you, but here is what I have to say.

First, I disagree that you should be rated as 1. You have some definition in yours arms and shoulders, as well as some shape to your quads. You don’t suck as much as some other people here might say. You live 2,000 miles away from me so I am not saying this in a vain attempt to hook up with you.

Do some digging and you will find many other excellent articles.

Third, to narrow your middle, direct ab work is probably not going to give you excellent results there. Overall BF% reduction will contribute, and lean mass gains will automatically consume more energy. Hopefully some of the other members will contribute something of value.

Bubbles, if you’re looking for REAL feedback, it would be helpful to understand your goals. If you open yourself up to just judging you by pictures, what has happenned (folks jacking your thread) is exactly what happens.

What kind of specific feedback are you looking for that you haven’t received yet?

the advice on not focusing on abwork was good…i do situps like crazy. I have had two children and a tubal ligation(see the scar) so it takes a lot of work. I also gain in my middle, first…maybe that would be helpful. I am 34.

Women hate me because I lift weights. It makes me a self-pretentious asshole with no life. It also means I have a small cock and low self-esteem.

Nice to see a woman who does not feel that way for once.

my fiance lifts weights and he is the sweetest most giving man I ever met! Women do love it…just a bit advice…don’t do the following:

  1. talk about how much you work out
  2. flex your muscles and look in the mirror in front of her
  3. criticize her for not working out
  4. make sure women know you do it because you want to be healthy and like to challenge your body…make sure they know you view it as a sport
  5. tell her how beautiful she is…they may be intimidated by your manliness(i know how that one feels)

make sure women know you have balance in your life…you have a brain and a heart.

btw-with the exception of a few assholes on this thread…bodybuilders (men and women) are among some of the most intelligent people I know. It is a science and a sport. You have to be somewhat intelligent to succeed and a seriously gifted to excel!
