You possibly could. However, they couldn’t classify you as an employee and pay you less than minimum wage.

That’s the hypocrisy inherent to the system.

The thing is, if you “interned” for McDonald’s for 4 bucks an hour, it wouldn’t be long before word of it got out and they were under investigation for misclassifying their employees as interns. This is a serious charge.

Congressmen and women needn’t fear the same treatment.
