Hypertrophy, by Christian Thibaudeau

Found this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/urc627ZvB5A?t=380. Interesting using the weight as a counterbalance.

Did you make those boxes? Very cool setup! Thanks for the reply.

Yeah had some extra pieces of stall mat lying around and some 2x6’s and 2x4’s.

Honestly a better setup for belt squats would be 2x pre-fabricated 12x14x16” boxes that a lot of places (Titan, Rep, Rogue, Fringe…) sell for box squats and step up’s. You can find lots of different ways to use something as simple as a box. Can usually find them on sale in the year for almost cheaper than it would be to build them yourself these days.

Same goes for the DIY loading pin. I built one before I knew it was a product you could buy for $20. Mine was a bit cheaper but I have to unthread it each time I change a weight. May as well just buy a real loading pin. Screw threads can hold a lot of weight btw.

good stuff, checking that out now

Hello Christian and everybody,
As part of your load-based hypertrophy program I do not have access to an incline press, does it make sense to replace it with a unilateral kneeling landmine press? thanks for your help.

Looking at Hypertrophy Load, is Day 3 - Bonus Work to be performed on Day 3 (after Day 3 - Lower Body) or is that to be split out for Day 4?

Thought this was pretty cool, make a chest-press like machine at home: https://youtu.be/zOrn2zzX_x4?t=1582
