power cleans this am after a long SHITTY night at work.
this was by far the worst pc workout of my miserable undistinguished failure of a life.
to say a dead grandmother could clean this good would be a grave (pun intended) insult to dead grandmothers.
I had ZERO pop and explosion, you could not hear my heels hitting the floor even on warmups with the EMPTY FUCKING BAR
I MISSED 100kg twice, then hit it for a triple, nearly torm my forearm and biceps doing it as i just muscled it up with no explosion and drive from the hips.
decided if I cannot do anything even close to respectable as far as loading goes, might as well get my heart rate up and my “swole-on”
80kgx20, 80kgx10, 60kgx20
done. time for a strong shot of bourbon, ibuprofin and BED!

No way when I worked nights could I go lift, I always went to bed right after work. Got up around 3 lifted, ate and then was at work for 7 pm shift.
hit a recent pr… 225kgx11 used belt and straps. then did 170kgx10 no belt, then 120kgx10 no belt. after this set was done, my daughter, who is visiting from alabama…she also videoed the 225x11 on my phone, said:
“dad” why dont you lift that over your head?" so still breathing hard from the last set, I cleaned the 120 and jerked it, then racked it on my squat racks.
good day.
ill post the vid as soon as i figure out how to do so with my new phone(new phone is android, last one waas blackberry)
btw, my previous rep record with 225kg was 11 also, did it in my 20’s, but I did it without a belt and no straps.
today just minutes ago(yes, i work nights, and on my nights off it is not uncommon for me to workout in my garage at MN)
barbell press- warmups felt really easy and explosive…so I thought today was the day I might hit the all elusive 150kg(have not done that much since my mid late 20’s), but 140kg x 1 felt heavy, and I got CRUSHED with 150kg. not even close

Regardless of the straps and belt, equalling a PR set in your 20’s in your forties is fucking awesome and something to be very proud of.
today- got results of my c-spine mri moderate stenosis c5-c7, large bulging disc c6-c7 compressing my c spinal cord. neurologist called me at 7pm from his house to tell me to STOP LIFTING WEIGHTS IMMEDIATELY and see the neurosurgeon in the morning asap.
I will post when I have a more clear tx plan and or surgical options.
have moderate to severe stenosis c4-c5, and c6-c7, with flattening of the ventral and central spinal cord. need surgery, having weakness and pain in right arm. surgery tenatively scheduled for late august early September.
untill then, lots of cardio (hill sprints, tabata airdyne bike, prowler) and lots of high reps low weight in every machine in the commercial gym.
still training every day…but much different from what I am used to. want to stay strong for the surgery, as I will be down for at least 3 months post surgery.

HT,sorry to read about your neck. You’ve had such a rough road with serious injuries. But I’m sure (like you always do) you’ll keep training around your injuries. Was it weakness in your right arm that got you to go to the doc or something else?
Mike - Sorry to hear about the injury. I have been taking a break from the heavy lifting myself to give my body a break for about 6 months. I hired Roman and have been changing the goal to single digit body fat by my 48 Birthday in Sept. We could race to 10% bf if you are up for it? I have about a 3 week head start on you. The lifting was so foreign to me I actually told Roman I couldn’t do it because it was to gay, lol. Then it proceeded to kick my ass without using anything more than 40 pound dumbbells. So far I dropped from 256.6 to 241 even. I have no idea what my weight will be in Sept but I will probably be competing in the 220’s or 198’s when I go back…lol
This is why I stop posting a log. i didn’t want Chief or Barry or the boyz laughing me off the boards…
Colin, after this gay marriage shit I would never believe Charlie Brown has a Fem side, he’s just a little challenged. HT you never cease to amaze. Keep on keeping on my brother. BYW Jimmy T is going crazy. He recently did a 500X5 squat at less than 200lbs. His other numbers are equally awesome. After my cable mishap just trying to get back into the swing. The best to the crew.

yes eco. I felt the pain in my right trap and neck was something i would just have to deal with, just another nagging chronic injury/pain added to my list of many…but when I started to lose feeling in my right arm and hand…I got worried.

thanks barry…jimmy is a mans man for sure. fuck it…before this latest injury, I hit a 600lb x 1 deadlift and 500x 11. did a 330lb power clean and a 308lb jerk. I got nothing to prove anymore. I need to fix my body and try to look good naked.

dont mean to sound like a jerk collin…but I think my bf is pretty low already. i have vascularity in my thighs, biceps, triceps, shoulders, and even my lats.
I am hanging of to a little bit of belly fat and of course, my cursed man-boobs which have been the bane of my existence since I was a kid.

Colin, surely you’ve realized by now that as long as I’m posting, your workouts will never be the most pathetic.
I did the 7 sight test and came out at 22.2.% body fat. I was like WTF it was quite an eye opener for me??? But the scale don’t lie. I had pretty good look to me, big shoulders and somewhat vascular in my chest and a big old spare tire around my mid section, lol. I know you look good, I was just thinking a different training goal might give you incentive to stay in the gym since you really shouldn’t put that messed up neck under the strain of heavy weights right now.
Roman is John Romaniello, he writes here at t-mag and I have known him for about 5 years. He knows his stuff!
Not what I meant. Bro, you are doing the damn thing. That puts you ahead of 99% of the population who are just sitting on their asses complaining about shit. STOP depreciating your efforts! You are working hard and progressing, fuck that is awesome! Those that do…do those that don’t come up with lame ass excuses or negative comments about those who do, fuck them…
