HT's What The Hell Am I Doing Part II

Ok, that new avatar is scary.

HT,are you a floor nurse? My wife is and 12 hour shifts are no fun. I’m surprised you had the mental fortitude to workout after that kind of schedule.

Barry, deadlifting 315x17 is definitely in puke territory. And done after a full deadlift workout makes it even worse. Great work.

what new avatar?

eco, I work in the ED of a regional trauma center. yes i work 12 hour night shifts. put a pedometer on very now and then, average 5-7 miles of walking each night.

the “jiggle butt” one – I hadn’t seen it before.

My wife is a CRNA, bless your heart, you are putting in some hard hours.

haha! check out “ill will” google it. it is a hilarious cartoon. ya, running in level one trauma ED is pretty tough, but rewarding at the same time. sometimes it is nice to know you can do a job very few could handle.

HT, you are a stud in and out of the gym. read a set of rows and tried it the othe day. Trying to lose some of my baby fat.
DB swings 70X20,80X20,80X10 these kick my buttttt trying to work up to 30 reps

Sorry for the lack of posts, traveling west TX and east NM. Had to have a come to Jesus meeting with a HS footballer. Told him there was more to life than curls and pressdowns. Had him do the drop set with 35s. He said the pump was better than the 65# curls. Don’t think I made any headway. A blessed weekend to all.

Nice to see the Missoura mule is still kicking…way to go guys.

thanks guys! barry you are still a big scary old dude! would not want to be on your bad side in a well light alley!

feeling really banged up… the usual suspects are angry at me(left knee, left elbow, right shouler, back) and a few new friends, namely the RIGHT elbow, and left shoulder. gonna take the next two weeks as a deload, and do easy machine and cable stuff and bodyweight stuff, EOD total body workouts for high reps so i can heal up and lose a few more pounds. REALLY want to hit 215.

friday i did this:

dumbbell swings x 100lbsx20
mil press 115x15
chins 1x15
death march 40lbs x 40 yards
dumbbell rows 110x12
TKE with double mini bands 25 reps each leg
dumbbell curls 35lbx20, 40lbsx10
pushups 20 reps
prowler 2 minutes on 1 minute off x 3 rounds
ghr x15
back raises x 20

this was done as one giant circuit, only rest was the time to set up the new stations.

fat man chins x 20
bench dips x25
one leg squats x 20
dumbbell high pulls x20

Still form challenged, keeps an old man up at night. Can do RDL with 545 for reps and have a heck of a time doing it from the floor. Flexiblity is a problem especially with my ankles. Blew out achillees years ago( no surgery???). Not always very bryte u no. Miss my gyms in Missouri. Hardcore is silent here. The chest supported row thing I work on isn’t attached to the floor so after 4plates I have to counter balance the thing with a 100# db or it will turn over. There’s a hole in the wall next to itfor proof. But I have to clean up my chalk and they put up with me. A bouncer at a bar thinks when there’s 4 plates on the hammer chest machine he’s benching 405. I told him 405 would crush him like a bug. Ah, to be young again. Heading back to MO this month. Eagle Gym, a dying breed but it’s not dead and the atmosphere is very special. I said it was spiritual once and some fuck ask me what that meant? If you have to ask you don’t fucking need to know. The best to you and all the crew.

hey all…not much to post…workouts been pretty non eventful… pulled 500 last week, thats 2 weeks in a row i pulled 230kg, but both times i had to stop cause back told me “no bueno”

power cleaned 110kgx3, and missed 120kg twice :frowning:

today i pressed 110kg…no big deal there, but the backs story is that my shoulder has been feeling like poo-poo lately and have not pressed in a while, AND this was really easy and did not hurt. toyed with the idea of going to 120kg, but stopped and ended the workout on a good note.

here is a pic of the press, have a vid of the pc’s, but having trouble getting them from phone to computer.

yesterday-

deadlift 200kgx5 raw, 230kg belt x1

ghr 3x15

prowler 6 trips

today-

close grip bench 200kgx1, 70kgx15

chins 5x10

done!

Hope all is well with the gang!!! Checkin’ in to make sure you guys and gals aren’t slacking in my absence…obviously you’re not!!! Things are ok with me and mine…I have a long road ahead as far as rehab goes but I’m ‘ready, willing & able!’ Take care for now & stay strong and train smart!
