HS Iso-lateral Front Lat Pulldown

This machine hits my lats very well, one of my faves.

That is the same design as the one I use only mine holds 6 plates a side. I have to put a towel between my legs to keep my nuts safe though when I go that heavy.
yeah that helps a ton

Agree on the HS high row. 6 plates a side for reps - ONE arm at a time, I hope

If you are looking to train your mid back, they have a seated front row for Hammer Strength machines. I do almost all of back training on them right now…but I go pretty heavy.

The one shown in the op isn’t even the best for lats in my opinion. The HIGH row is…but either way, HS machines must be the best in the business because I haven’t used any other that mimics free weight movements like that.
Are you talking this badboy here or the low-row? I like both of them, the only problem is the one at my gym only can hold 5 plates/side.
i like it because it’s the only pulldown exercise that i can do unilaterally and i have an imbalance in my left side…

OP - I fucking hate you…my gym only has the regular HS high row with the retarded handles that prevent you from using an underhand grip. I’d love to find a gym that has the variation you posted.

Btw… Yates > *

My gym has that one as well as the HS high row…I like the feel it gives but mine only holds 5plates. I’ve been wanting to come up with something I can use to extend the bar so I can put more plates on it. I’ve already exhausted other means of making the exercise harder (super slow negative, paused squeeze at peak contraction, etc - basically copied how Yates uses it in Blood n Guts).

Haha, trust me man you don’t want to go my gym… it doesn’t even have a plate-loaded leg press for fucks sake.

And yes, Yates > all. Blood and Guts (and his training partner) is amazing.

Oops, the Professor’s post prompted a Google search and the one I’m using is actually the high row. I didn’t pay too much attention to the handle setup in the original pic.

Good stuff. Iso-lateral machines are a great invention.
Ah, I love this High row machine. I just added it in to my back days and I love the feeling in my lats from it.

LOL I thought I was being soft when I started looking for ‘protection’ after hitting 5 plates each side for the first time the other day (4 reps for anyone’s interest).

Most uncomfortable thing ever, used the pain for extra power!!!

Lol, I’ve always found a place on the machine to rest my feet whilst using this, and locked my legs out to keep the boys a few inches away from the crushing zone.

I really REALLY miss my old gym. It was completely fitted out with every HS machine you can imagine.
