I’m not sure if this is the correct forum, but I am wondering if anyone can recommend a HRT Doctor. I am in West Michigan, but am willing to travel up to a couple of hours to get to a good doctor. I am suffering from several different hormones being low (out of balance), but cannot seem to find a doctor that knows their @$$ from their elbow when it comes to testosterone replacement.
I see that Dr. Crisler is located in East Lansing. That is definately within range, but I am having a very difficult time getting any response from his office. This is a big ‘turn off’ to me. I’m sure the reasons are self explanatory.
You might also look for one of these new “Life Extension” doctors. Many of them follow Dr. Crisler’s protocol. You’ll also find that they are a lot more open minded than your regular M.D. or even D.O.
I just started TRT with my primary DO in Zeeland, MI. He’s usually pretty receptive to ideas, but I’ve only just started a month ago with the TRT. All I asked was to get some bloodwork done, including testosterone. He said it isn’t common for someone whose 30 to have low T, but said it isn’t unheard of. He tells me “It’s your blood, might as well check if you want”
My level came back 221. He started me on the patch, but switched me too Test cyp 200 mg every 4, now every 2 weeks since my symptoms started coming back. I did ask him about what tests we would be running, but didn’t get the impression that estrogen would be getting checked. I’m gonna compile some research and see if I can change his outlook, as long as I give good logic, he goes along with most things I suggest. I am a nurse, so that may help with dealing with him. I’m gonna see if I can get my dosing dialed in good, I think I’m calling him tomorrow, I’m not due til Friday for my next shot, but I’m starting to get some anxiety and my nasty sweating back again. I’m hoping to get a weekly dose that works for me, and hopefully present a plan for everything else as soon as I can wade through the lack of good info available and get something decent show him.
I know a lot of people here have a very bad view of Primary doctors. I realize that they aren’t experts in everything, but they do know a lot, and I think my Doc does pretty good. He can’t be an expert in every field, but does seem to be able to listen, which a lot of doctors don’t quite understand how to do.
Just want to see if I can get what I need done without having to see a specialist.

LOL! I flew there once from Cleveland. My E2 was twice range, no anti-E. I then had the Ultra-sensitive E test; nine times range. No anti-e.
He then said he was going to lower my T dose. I asked why and he exploded. After he calmed down, I inquired about an anti-e. He exploded again.

Nothing you show him will have any impact. He will thank you and probably try to interest you in Androgel.
To get real HRT, you have to have major cash, like Stallone. Otherwise, just take the horseshit gels and be happy you got that.

If you serious then I will not be paying him a visit.

If he is serious then he’s probably not telling the truth. I am a patient of his and I know for a fact he watches a man’s E2 and treats with Anti-E’s.
