I did the HP Mass, with rotating the assistance work around, for exactly 6 months now. My work capacity went through the roof, i remember the beginnings when my shoulders started to hurt, but in a positive way, i new i had to go through taht shit because of all the pressing. I now ended up improving all my lifts by 20kg after and I am also heavier by 3kg of lean mass, i kept my BF at 11%.

the only thing i changed up, was that I once inflammed my quadricep insertion in my knee so bad that I cant squat any more. So i stuck to Snatch-grip DLs ramping it up and going straight to a further ramp up in the Trap-bar deadlift… works perfectly for me. After dead the usual sled work, going by feel. Whats cool is that my knees feel pretty good, i can jump higher than ever before, now beeing able to dunk a ball, beeing 5’10 and 204lbs, guess thats ok. I still can not squat, but what the heck  as long as my legs are big and i can use them i dont give a damn.

I also used 2-3 scoops of Surge + 60g-70g of Anapure (its the casein hydro from proteinfactory) and it sure as hell helped.

Whats funny now, I used the extremely increased work capacity to go back to programming using controlled eccentrics and my weight has gone up 1kg of lean mass again in only 2 weeks, to bad my time in the United states where I can use the protocol are coming to an end in only 10 days, then its time to get back to Austria.

so do the HP mass program, jack up your work capacity, and use it with other strength protocols. I realized work capacity is the real key at the end.

In sum, i find my gains, 3kg from HPmass + 1kg now pretty impressive even though i cant compete with the gains Christian or the other guys had, BUT, even though i have a high work capacity now, i dont even want to know how high the capacity of christian for example is  Thats why he is able to make such quick differences in his physique, but its only logical.

Sounds pretty awesome! Did you do the neural charge sessions twice a week as outlined?

Also, what were your starting and ending MTWs?

Solid work, bud![/quote]

i did neural charge actually more often, for example, I did not really think like christian said, that you neural charge the day before, to get primed for the day after, for me that was not really working that way, i realized i have to First, go by feel, Second, do it on the same day. By feel I mean, i realized, that I am a little sluggish, when my feet felt like they were stuck in cement buckets when i was walking up the stairs into the second floor. Thats when I knew I have to neural charge to wake my whole body up in a sense. So yeah, and on the normal training days I neural charged 1 to 3 hours before the actual workout with workoutrelated exercises always including jumps.

What I also did, on the Neural Charge only days, after 2 months i started to do lats and bi’s at the end of every neural charge session, + Eccentric less work, first i did it only on the saturdays.

Eccentric less work was also more or less done by feel on those neural charge days, mostly it was some lat circuits and after that i did circuits were i felt sore. I recall a week, after already 2 months doing this stuff, were I got sore as hell in my traps, i dont know why, but i guess its because finally my push press form was almost “ultimate” haha, and I really felt my traps and rhomboids at the start and end of the rep. So I added a ton of eccentric less work for traps, rhomboids and shoulders. And it helped practically over night. (my push press was 10kg stronger the week after, what a coincidence hehe, so never neglet such a sign, just do more eccentric less stuff)

my MTWs were

push press from 75kg to 95kg
bench press from 105 to 120 kg (on fat bar)
bench from pins i did not count, i think it was from 115 to 135

snatch-grip deadlift 100 - 120 (grip is the issue here)
trap bar deadlift 145 - 185

finished the first 6 weeks of HP mass about a week ago and i just finished retesting all of my 3RMs

Squat: 295 lb to 315 lb
Deadlift: 365 to 385

Standing OHP, 140 to 165
Incline Benchpress: 200 to 215 (then 220x2 but it was right after i went all out on OHP)
Flat Bench: 215 to 235

Pretty good gains in my book and what I love about the program is that the progression is very logical and even thought he amount of weight used doesn’t change much, the increase in volume while still focusing on maximum force production is enough to elicit significant strength gains.

All of this happened while I lost about 10 pounds (which is no biggie because im chubby enough to lose weight and gain muscle). People commented on me looking less fat and my girlfriend asked why my legs and shoulders were getting bigger so SUCCESS. once i stop being sick, i’m either going to do another cycle of this or the Six Weeks to a Superhero program (because i should probably be focusing on fat loss)

Unfortunately, i never got to really focus on eccentricless training because i lift in a college gym. whenever i thought about it though i would do one legged leg extensions and take the negative portion out. also studying took time away from extra stuff grrrr

THIBS YOU DA MAN!!!

And cheers to all who’ve made good progress because of having an open mind even though most would consider us crazy (and super HYUUUGEEE and strong once we do a few more cycles)!
