Shit, i’ve trained at “fitness centers” before, not to be mistaken for gyms, and in between sets i flex the muscle group that i’m training; it helps connect the mind, helps the pump, and helps with overall hardness. lil’ guys and fat women might look at you like you are crazy but fuck it, when i’m at the gym it’s my time,
Does this really help a lot, or are you and Josh just rationalizing it?

It helps massively I think. I can always hit the targeted muscle I want during an exercise, and my workout partner can’t and he hardly flexes. When doing pullups/rows he can only feel his arms working - he has pretty big arms and no lats at all. His traps do most of the work in shoulder exercises, which are also huge.

I uncontrollably do the pec-dance all day at work when I’m sitting at my desk. I started practicing being able to actively flex my pecs more because they are a lagging body part (working on mind-muscle connection) and I did it so much that now I do it subconsciously. Kind of embarrassing really when I’m talking to someone and they point out my pecs are moving and I didn’t even realize they were.[/quote]
hahahah YES!
x2
i have been able to do the pec-dance since 5th grade and it has gotten to the point where if i am just hanging around friends and there is some kind of beat in the background, my pecs dance along to it. friends make fun of me, but honestly, most of the time i don’t even realize i do it.
I make it a personal rule to never wear a shirt while I brush my teeth at night. I know it’s coming everyday and it’s going to be no fun to look at if I let myself get sloppy with diet or training. It’s a little motivator I use.
The whole routine of brushing my teeth seems to take a lot longer than it used to though, because invariably I end up tooth brush hanging out one side of my mouth flexing away instead of actually doing any brushing.
I would have to say I’m pretty vain because my wife and I video chat because I’m in Iraq and she catches me looking at myself in the webcam. I try to play it off but she knows.

I love it when people accuse me of flexing when I’m not. I like to flex my calves while I’m walking. I do flex a lot around my daughters boyfriends, you know the old stroke the hair and the fake yawn stretch. I’m totally vain, fact vain people give me dirty looks.
Think about it…isn’t vanity what got us into the fitness game anyway? If we didn’t care about our physical images…would we spend so much time attempting to perfect them?
i’ll admit, i can be pretty vain sometimes. especially when i close the gym on saturday nights, and work out with my shirt off. but it feels good, and makes me think i’ve accomplished something.
