Thanks for all of the advice buddies.

By the looks of things, it looks like alot of you guys work the biceps twice a week. Do you think I can get decent results with just once a week?

Probably not ;(
If they were of decent size you could of course maintain them with once a week, along with various other heavy pulling. But if you want to grow them you just need to put some time into it, prioritize.

Why would he not be able to see gains through training biceps once a week? If the volume was there I see no issue.

Everyone’s bi’s are different, but with out a lot of heavy rows, I can’t imagine @ 6"2" and soccer player thin he’s goona gain mass on a 1x a week bi w/out. But maybe he can…

I agree, If you’re over 6’ and don’t have great arms to begin with ,then once a week is not gonna cut it. If you’ve got long skinny arms, you’ll need at least twice a week to get optimal results. Like any lagging body part, upping frequency will produce better results.

Don’t forget that he hasn’t trained them directly before. I’ve seen gains with having one arm day in a week before just fine, I just had to make sure the volume was high enough to justify a whole week in between my next session. They would have also been hit during my back workout too, which was on a separate day. If he started training them once a week on a separate day to his back workout then he is upping frequency.

But I do agree that everybody is different and what some people will get gains from others may not. The only way to find out what’s optimal for your arm training is to try it out for yourself.

Fair enough. I’d stop doing them if they’re causing wrist issues. There are plenty of other good biceps exercises you can do.

Your 5’ 8"

He’s 6’ 4" …Betting he has long arms. Long arms not as easy to thicken up. One day not optimal for building HUUUUGE guns.

If your only hitting bi’s once a week how many sets do you guys think should be done?

Why not? How tall are you? How big are you arms?

If you do a heavy back day with lots of volume, I’d think 12 sets of 8-12 reps should do it. If you’re doing it right.

x2

i do 3 sets of standing barbell curls 1.5x a week (alternate 1/2) 10RM is 100

but my arms are only 16.5 or 17 pumped, which kind of sucks
