Punching someone in the face, whatever the reason, is the exact opposite of “effeminate”.

Yeah, but his son is going to be a pussy.
Now if his son punches OP in the face…
Should pack a nice punch too, that little heavyweight…

Alright, he will only be stupid and impulsively violent but very, very manly.
Also, he will probably not get raped in prison because he is simply not pretty enough.
OP, I know you’re not an American, but I think this message is universal. I watch it sometimes when I’m feeling like a douche.
Listen to Rollins.

I always thought the fat guys got raped more …you know, cause theyre soft and have titties. Also presumably have a harder time getting up once you push them over.

So “manly” is synonymous with “violent” in your opinion, regardless of the reason for the violence?
Really can’t say I agree, and I am by no means a pacifist.
^problem? This is a pretty serious question though. And I’m not afraid to say that being/appearing manlly is important to me. I dont want to be a punk or a douche but I always have to ask my self what the correct /manly level of escalation is.
Someone insults you. Do you A) Ignore? (sounds not manly) (too tough to be phased style manly)
B) Insult back with a better insult (More manly)(childish)
or
C) Punch them in the throat (manliest)(barbaric and not civilized)

But being a douche is not very manly.
^also true. Thats the problem neh? Being a douche is easy…at least for me.

Well, you will meet enough people in your life where you can let it hang all out.
Just give them the benefit of the doubt, just to make sure you unload on the right people.

So… basically she could be almost 10% male?

I have no problem whatsoever with violence, when it’s called for, and sometimes it is absolutely called for. If a man is unwilling/unable to protect himself and those under his protection then he is less of a man, in my estimation.
However, the willingness to do violence alone does not make a man. There are plenty of career criminals who perform staggering acts of violence on a regular basis who are nothing more than frightened children and bullies who prey on the weak.
Integrity, pragmatism, grit, compassion, humility, dignity, reason and moral courage and half a dozen other qualities are least as essential to “manliness” as naked aggression, IMO.
To answer your question, I don’t believe in answering words with force, unless those words constitute a threat to something other than my ego. Punching some idiot in the throat for mouthing off is not necessarily manly. It is also not particularly intelligent and will incidentally quite possibly land you in jail. What difference does it make what somebody says? If it’s the truth it’s the truth if it’s not it’s not. Who cares?
If you choose to escalate words to force, IMO it’s a sign of you own weakness and insecurity. The stronger your emotional reaction is, the more important to you the opinion of some random person is: not manly. If you are angry and cannot control your emotions: also not manly. To me the responses that you describe as progressively more manly are, in fact, the reverse. Whoever angers you controls you and ultimately defeats you. Even if you one-punch him.
If you feel, given the setting, that you must respond, what about answering with words? What about using your reason and asking a series of questions that deflects or debunks the insult until it has no sting, the guy looks stupid, or better still he realizes he’s being an idiot and apologizes and conducts himself better in the future? Depends on the context of course, but you get the idea.

DAMN YOU! OK Im sure its all female there. Why must these things be questioned on the interwebz?
batman: I put the two different ways each response could be taken manly or not manly. I was just trying to illustrate that no matter what you/I do it could be taking either way.
