How to make creatine gains permanent

Hi guys! When I take creatine, just 2 grams a day for 2 months, my body starts looking like that of a model. My muscles appear fuller, some areas of my body that usually look empty fill out nicely, and overall I look much better. When I stop taking it, I go back to how I was before — still a great physique, but looking less muscular.

Does taking creatine show us what our body could look like at its full potential, a level we could never reach just with training?
Or is it actually possible to reach that same look only and exclusively by taking creatine?

This made me chuckle.

Think of those first couple pounds like being hydrated or eating carbs: you’re filling out, but you can’t just never drink water again and hold onto it. The creatine is pulling water into your muscle cells, so it increases fullness, so you hold a couple extra pounds.

Creatine also facilitates ATP production - this means maybe getting an extra rep on your sets. That will certainly allow you to build more muscle and strength over the long term, which is a bit more “permanent.”

More recent studies are also showing cardiac and cognitive (including maybe slowing the symptoms progression or even onset of dementia!) benefits with creatine. That wasn’t part of your question, but definitely worth considering.
