Ya I think you look pretty balanced
definitely need more long head of the tricep, I wouldnt call you a tricep dominate presser that is for sure.

your triceps are NOT too big- in general, compared to body, compared to others’ bodies, etc. i was really hoping to see something stupidly out of proportion, thanks for the upset!
First, thanks for posting a pic of someone who looks like they lift weights. I was expecting “the usual”.
I agree with others, there is nothing out of proportion about your triceps. If anything, I see room for more focused shoulder development because those rear delts are lagging.
Id say your delts look like they overpower your arms, not the other way around. alittle more tris and bis wouldnt hurt. that being said, you have a good balanced physique and your lean. keep up the good work!
My delts grew just fine when I separated my shoulder and could do no pressing at all. I relied on rear delt rows and flyes, side raises done the way I discussed in the T-Cell shoulders thread, and hammer grip front raises (all done for 15+ repetitions).
My shoulders have had a good popped look to them ever since that time (I credit those lateral raises completely… the same form is used by guys like Jay Cutler and Seth Feroce, both known for having great delts… and it’s what my training partner has been using to bring his weak shoulders up).
That said, I think the OP is probably some delusional teenager, and if he actually were to post pictures of his gigantic triceps and lagging shoulders we would all have a good laugh at his expense.

He did post pics and he has been lifting.
I think he would be happier with his development if he actually built more overall size. He is worried about his triceps when he could stand to gain a good 20lbs overall to fill out more. It makes no sense for someone like this to cut back on training triceps because they had some weird thought that they were huge when they weren’t.
Heres an ideal shoulder routine that will get your shoulders to grow with minimum Tricep recruitment:
Rear DB Laterals 8 sets 15 reps
Side Laterals 4 sets 12 reps
Seated Side Laterals 4 sets 12 reps
Rear Laterals on Fly Machine 3 sets 15 reps
Shoulder presses 4 sets 30 reps
Barbell Shrugs 4 sets 12 reps
Dumbbell Shrugs 4 sets 12 reps

Yeah, and the point is, why are you telling hm how to avoid getting his triceps involved when his triceps aren’t overdeveloped?
You see, that is why people who actually follow a discussion are of greater help.
OP I would do a typical shoulder routine starting of with barbell or dumbell presses and follow them up with the lat raise variations that have been stated earlier, being as I agree that your triceps do not overpower your shoulders and could honestly use some more work.
Good thing you posted pics, prevented you from doing some unnecessary shit. Amazing how you can have such a distorted view
at second look, id say the long head specifically is lacking. oddly enough i believe that the long head will be recruited more than medial and lateral heads when doing overhead shoulder work- aka pressing. in other words, if youve stopped overhead pressing, start again. if you havent, no need to stop- go heavier.
Please, listen to Professor X (I wish I had listened to him more when I was younger). you have a good base, and you are not out of proportion at all. Just need to gain more overall size.
Don’t try to fix a problem that isn’t there. Whatever routine you are doing, just keep doing it.
Didn’t read every reply, but in my opinion, I think shoulders can take a good bit of volume when done with good form and intelligently. I usually just do one shoulder press variation a week (2 at most, but one is lighter), plenty of lateral raises and variations, and LOTS OF REAR DELT WORK.
Oh, and check out John Meadows’ shoulder article, some really good stuff in there I like, and I haven’t even tried it all yet.

That article is awesome the idea of doing heavy partials was may faveorite. I Cant do heavy lateral raises anymore because of my shoulder problem so doing heavy heavy partials then going lighter on the full ROM is the only way I can feel the lateral head and exhaust it that guy`s great
Thanks for all the replies! Yes, I knew you’d disagree with me. I know I’m not huge, and fact of the matter is, I don’t want to be either. I want a lean healthy, and athletic body. As I’m an active soccer player, I can’t really get much bigger all over without losing agility and stamina. My goal is just to slab on some more mass in what I believe is the right places for aesthetic reasons. I hope you can respect that, and so I want to say thank you to all you who tried to answer my questions instead of disagreeing with ‘my distorted view on my triceps’.
I’m 5’10 and 176 lbs, and my ultimate goal is to be around 182 lbs completely shredded with a 40 inch vert.
I just read the Meadows article and I will certainly implement some of that!
Oh, and I don’t do shrugs, because I don’t want bigger traps:P please don’t hate me, lol.

While there aren’t many big soccer players out there, there are quite a lot of guys that weigh more than 182. The 210 pound Ibrahimovic, while skinny, has a big advantage in being a lot stronger than the competition. Stamina isn’t everything. Being able to play with two guys on your back also counts. And corners are pretty much sumo wrestling.
Unless it’s your job, soccer isn’t everything either.
Goob job so far, keep it up!
Well, maybe one day it will be my job, who knows.
Of course there are guys that weigh more than 182. Keep in mind I’m only 5’10, while Ibrahimovic is like 6’4. Quite a big diff there. If I were 210 pounds I would be extremely bulky for a 5’10 soccerplayer. Also, just look at Messi. 5’7 and 150 pounds. He can hold off 2 guys while also being insanely agile.
Of course, that’s why I wrote “while skinny”. But regardless of height, weighing more makes it harder to push you around. And I believe extra padding can prevent injuries, or at least speed up recovery.
He also moves less than the goalkeepers during some games, so stamina isn’t always important.
Weigh what you want. Good luck!
What position do u play OP? there still some guys that are bigger than average, jason roberts, essien, drogba, elakobi etc and particularly in lower league strength is much more beneficial.
I play as a forward, mainly striker. I rely alot on my speed and agility, and I really don’t want to lose it!
I understand training for purely aesthetic reasons. However, the idea of purposely trying to gain muscle slower than what is possible is flawed logic.
You’re not going to look less aesthetic because you gained muscle faster. You will just reach your goal at slower pace. Once you reach your goal, you can just focus on maintenance.
