I can’t say I’m someone who frequents the forums. The reason:
There are too many childish personal wars going on between people with forum A.K.As. Sometimes I think some of these guys only joy in life is to torment each other with misquotes and contraversial evidence. (i.e.:
DR. TuFF NuTz "Lift heavy with low volume and you’ll look like ronnie coleman
The Cock Slapper “That’s just newbie talk… you need to lift like CT highlights in his part time beast article and eat like a T-Dawg to see results.”
DR. TuFF NuTz “That’s bullshit. I’ve been in this forum for 25 years. Lift like Chad Waterbury says or you’ll never see results”
and so on and so forth
Don’t get me wrong, the writers on T-Nation are top knotch guys/gals but I think some would do better to open up their opinionated minds to other interpretations of the same friggin’ principles.
One thing said remotely off base and BOOM get ready to get slammed by hundreds of T-Nation forum zealots.
I hope SERIOUSLY that T-Nation writers attempt to initiate some sort of “order” on this my space type forum. For fuck sake, at least shoot an email to some folks that screw it up for everyone, to let them know… they need to CHILLOUT!!!

gustojack get used to it this is an open forum People can post what ever they want as long as its not offensive on a broad spetrum (racial slurs shit like that) so get used to it

Have you ever taken a philosophy class where people argue over principles that have been laid out by others in pursuit of formulating their own opinion and conclusions? I am guessing no. The T-Nation forums are a great place to talk about ideas, forcing people to have a reason for what they say while using experience to back it up.
Please find another website where everyone agrees and tells each other how great they are without any opposing arguments.

It’s not about agreeing. It’s about knowledge sharing and healthy debating…neither of which needs name calling and personal attacks attached to them.

For me, this quote sums up why it can be so frutstrating coming to open forums even on a site as “with it” as T-Nation.
9 out of 10 people who post don’t “give a shit” about anybody else posting. They don’t care about anybody else’s ideas, they don’t care about engaging in discussion with them.
All the majority of posts are about is having one’s two cents heard. Most people (not all) are too busy thinking of something sarcastic & cool to post that they forget about all the potential here for figuring out absolutely amazing shit.
I bet if everybody said to themselves “I am going to try to make every single one of my posts an actual contribution to the thread it’s on, and to never post something if it’s nothing more than a dumbass remark” then every single person would enjoy these forums more.
You know, I like to just come take a look in the forums and see what kind of conversation is going on at the time. Normally it’s funny and that makes my day. Sometimes something interesting might be discussed. On a number of occasions, shit got WAY out of hand and people were debating some truly remarkable topics, some being about training but most being relevant somehow to society in some way.
Those are the ones I like to jump into because no matter the outcome, a lot of points are going to be made and thought will be applied. Feeling will get hurt, egos will be assassinated. That’s life. That is how shit gets done in reality. A lot of us love that, too. It really is unfortunate that many threads degrade into a form of childish “fuck you” fights, though it must be entertaining for those involved.
All you guys can really do is avoid those threads and let them peter out and get pulled by the server, or whatever happens at T-Nation when old threads die. If you want to cry about something at T-Nation, email the customer service center. I’m sure that if your complaint is valid, they will address it. If it’s stupid, or bullshit, or whiny maybe they will ship a .45 cal handgun to your door so you can shove it in your mouth and pull the trigger.
Just so you know, being a whiny pansy is a sure sigh of your balls shriveling up and you turning into an Oprah watching, overweight, hyper-sensitive post-menopausal, unisex-haircut-wearing atrocity of modern civilization. Enjoy the rest of your useless day.
