The point I am trying to make is that over time your strength gains will plateau. My thought is that I would take advantage of the gains while you are getting them. Don’t stop muscle progress… EVER!
Once your strength gains plateau would be a good place to do a slow cut for about 2 months.

Here is a progress update. 13 months later and now at 184lbs. I have a shoulder injury so I don’t have the muscle that I hoped but time to start building. This is the leanest I’ve ever been heading into my 40th birthday so I’ll take that as a win!
