I don’t drink any milk. I get my calcium from protein shakes and calcium supps. The arguments that most people make against milk- that there are alot of people who have allergies to it and that can prevent fat loss and even cause a gain in BF%. Then theres the insulin spike milk gives. Fat absorbs toxins and the plastic that milk comes in releases xenoestrogens which is absorbed by the fat. Cows are usually feed grain which fucks with the omega 3:6 ratio of the cows. Cows are given antibiotics and can be sickly(from feeding them the grains) which will effect their milk. Then theres the fact that milk is pasteurized which kills all the organisums.

Where do some of you guys get raw milk? It is against the law not to pasturize and homogonize it to make it useless and dangerous to your arteries…
http://www.realmilk.com/where.html
California (where I’m originally from) allows raw milk sales in stores. Every other state bans the sale of raw milk in stores, but a lot of these states will allow farmers to sell raw milk off the farm and specifically, as is true here in Nebraska, out of the milk tank. This means no raw cheese and no raw butter, only raw milk. Raw cheese can be sold in stores (or through the mail) so long as it is aged a minimum of 60 days.
Another way to get around the law is to encourage a farmer to go into a cow share program where you buy an interest in the cow rather than pay for raw dairy products. The law does not forbid you from consuming raw milk products from your own cow. So if 100 people jointly own a cow, they could all, theoretically, get raw butter, cheese, and milk without violating the law.
Again, I cannot stress enough how raw milk not only is beneficial for the protein and micronutrients in the milk itself, but it really helps me handle the large volume of food that one must eat to gain bodyweight.

In place of cows milk I drink either rice milk or, just recently, plan on trying out almond milk. Apparently it’s as easy to make as a protein shake.
Seriously? Do you think you could post/PM a recipe? I’d love a good recipe.
All Im saying about milk is its a great source of nutrients and is cheap. There are so many variations of it there’s some for everyone, Sure you could take all these supps but why when milk takes care of it?
Is there any elite powerlifter or strongman or bodybuilder who are completely against milk, If the answer is no maybe thats your weak link.

Your best bet is to probably go to a farmer’s market and ask around. Be discreet, though. Some farmers might get a little nervous if you look suspicious. There was actually a farmer from here in KY who got raided for selling raw milk. Yes, that’s right. Raided.

And another guy in Ohio was busted in an undercover sting operation…for raw milk.

Our government is ridiculous sometimes…

Yeah, thats really sad. During a time of war, and epidemic levels of diabetes, our wonderful government is raiding farms and arresting farmers for selling fresh, raw milk much like our ancestors did before us.
I kind of side with the early post about dairy being bad for you skin, so I don’t drink much. I’m not even sure if dairy really does that, but somehow I think it does. Probably just paranoia. So I try to limit my cheese and milk intake as much as possible. But they are both so damn good though, so it’s hard not to ever eat them. Especially cheese - cheese fucking rocks.
Raw Milk, 1 gallon a week. I try to stay away from pasteurized dairy. Raw milk is extremely healthy, and the nutrients it provides are far better than regular milk.
I watch my calories, and fit it in my diet. Claims like " I dropped milk and lost x amount of body fat" are rather trvial. Eliminating calories in any form will cause weight loss, no matter if its milk or chicken.
I would consume my milk in the morning with a protein shake, also drop in a view raw organic eggs and some vanilla flavoring ( stevia sweetened ) for one hell of a morning shake.

When I have access to raw milk, I’ll drink at least three gallons a week. For me, it has to be raw and it has to be whole. A glass of whole milk provides roughly 11-12 g of carbs, and 8 g each of fat and protein.
The fat, of course, contains vitamin A, which is shown to increase protein synthesis. So, I get an easy to consume food source that comes packed with calories and protein, and, equally as important, the micronutrients I need to use the protein.
Let’s not also forget that the calcium in milk no doubt helps fuel the increases in bone denisty along the axial lines of stress that are stimulated by weight bearing activities (i.e., weight training).
For those who have lactose issues, raw milk tends to be easier to digest as the natural bacteria in the milk help break down the lactose. In fact the bacteria in raw milk??or, even better, in raw kefir??help you to digest foods much better in general.
This makes milk not only beneficial as a standalone food, but also helps enrich your ability to digest in general which has obvious importance for individuals eating large amounts of foods to add weight.
By way of anecdotal example, I’ve noticed that I make very fast gains in lean mass when I have good access to raw milk. This despite not using protein powders of any sort.
