You get nearly 200lbs from grip? That’s insane!
In my area, axles are free for whoever wants them. You go to most intersections and they are just there ready to take. They even have a big sign that says ‘stop’ to alert you to stop there and take your free axle. Just need common handyman tools.
One of the politicians from the past must have been a Strongman or something.
Vince Urbank lifted at the gym I attended for about 2 or 3 years. He pulled over 800 lbs on a regular basis with a double overhand hook grip. It was a sight to see and he was a mountain of a man. I believe the best he did in competition was 909 lbs.
That’s pretty cool!
My gym hosted the comp where Urbank hit the 906 US record.
Small world!
that’s really not surprising at all. Hook grip should be as strong as over/under if done right, or even stronger. I would imagine there are people out there getting 400+ extra lbs out of hook grip.
That has been my observation too. Hook adds a lot.
That’s true, I thought he said 200 lbs over his mixed grip but it’s overhand
